I am having the same issue.

I have guildmates that are currently logged in and playing, but I'm currently also stuck "Authenticating."
I'm from NA, wondering if it is a regional issue?

No, I'm from Europe also stuck. Just realise the login server, realm server and world servers are separate. So people already authenticated are fine. It's just logging in that's likely the problem right now.
