1. You vanilla andies always whine about stuff like cross realms, cross factions etc... and then we end up with realms dead in terms of pvp after 2 weeks. This isnt 2008, theres no merit in farming pve gear nobody cares anymore about that, all we care about is having active realms so everyone can have fun.

  2. what the hell 33 pages for this?
can someone summerize this topic in less than 3 sentences?:xD
Warmane introduced Blackrock PVP (instant 70) realm that would cross-realm with Onyxia (progression realm) PVP wise (arena and BGs).
Onixya community is not happy with the change as it wasn't communicated before and they feel it is unfair, but Warmane has already decided it is happening in attempt to help the PVP scene.
Blackrock PVPers are happy about the decision, but that is not enough for them so they keep gloating and trying to put the Onyxia community down by posting here, so Onyxia community keeps trying to defend thier opinion hence why the 30 pages.

  3. I'm agree with krasta and Twofpsx. When I told me teammates about TBC launch here, they said that they won't have time to gear up and farm everything for arena but then they heard about Blackrock they changed their mind.

  4. I agree and I apologize, as the Blackrock TBC realm is approaching, we should now provide feedback to design possible template character gear using websites like seventyupgrades (fully green items, green and rare items mixed etc) or discuss if 9-12 week gearing cycles are a reasonable time frame given the arena point distribution will stay Blizzlike.

Also some feedback regarding the arena team and mmr possibilities which could potentially be used for the realm.
In my opinion we would ideally roll with an mmr based system instead of the TBC one which is only based on team ratings to match players versus each other. This design could be abused heavily by fully geared players disbanding and remaking teams on a daily basis to face lower rated opponents frequently and would make up for a very frustrating new player experience.

Instead of expressing whatever we did in the last few replies.
I think arena flushes are increased, it was stated somewhere. That prolly still means 12 weeks until full gear, since PvE items also require arenapoints. Only 1 week of fully geared arenas would be a bit sadge.

Since we are on 3.3.5 Id assume we have MMR system in place already.

Yeah I would imagine they will increase the arena points cap for both Onyxia, and Blackrock. Hopefully we get some news on the release of TBC soon.

just FYI its not the entire Onyxia population that's against the change. Just some very vocal dudes.

I for one am looking forward to this because atm, the BGs are the bigger fiesta and skill is virtually nonexistent anywhere.

  7. Alright, 99% are NOT happy including me. Is that better? It's not a few vocal dudes, most of the community is not okay, they just know there is no point in posting here.

  8. entirely made up numbers my man. most people I talked to were like "yeah let it happen and then make an opinion about it. worst case we face better geared dudes than the current green geared / AFK alts AFKing in every BG"

the forums and 3 dudes on disc are literally the only people I see complaining about ****.

  9. Literally the guild leaders from the most active PVPers commented here. Maybe you talk to ppl who don't pvp at all. Even in this thread, the people from Onyxia that commented and are ok with this are just a couple including you. Assuming you are indeed an Onixya player and have been around for a while.

  10. I do not want to engage into this conversation too much but saying "99% are against it but do not bother commenting here" is equal to me saying "99% are looking forward to it but do not bother commenting here", nobody can confirm whether it is true or not and does not lead to anything.

Additionally the Pvp players playing TBC and Classic are entirely different as Classic is more roleplay / battleground focused with large scale fights and using a lot of consumables etc where TBC pvp end game focuses more on small scale arena fights and usually attracts other players to engage in these activities that had no interest in playing Classic at all. So a lot of these potential players are currently not actively taking part in the Pvp community but will start playing once TBC releases. One can only guess if they will prefer to play on Onyxia or choose Blackrock but we will get an idea on launch. However Blackrock is designed for this minority, the Pvp only players looking to compete in arena matches and perhaps some who also enjoy BGs.

If I may express a wish, please do not hesitate to test Pvp related class mechanics on the current TBC PTR and report them using the bug tracker in order to ensure a smooth launch in the future.

what Im trying to say is.

Even if hes the guild leader of a 500 people guild, which he isnt. then thats still not 99% of the entire player base as you're trying to make it seem.

You pulled any numbers out your *** and try to pass it as universally known which just screams "im projecting". The people I talked to do PvP, and a lot at that, just not right now cause of the HK meta. We're waiting for prepatch and honor/marks gaining importance to run prems and tbh I dont see many of you guys' arguments you're trying to make about Blackrock either.

Absolute worst case, top 3 spots will go to Blackrock cause some dudes decided to stay on there. Well mate: If someone gets top 3 spot be it by being carried by a guild thru content or be it by playing on an AT server where getting gear is "easier", they still need the skill to back up and thus deserve the spots in my book. Instead of yapping how **** is going to kill the server, how about you all just step up your game if you want top brackets.

And the majority of people that might start chars on Blackrock will stop playing soon after due to relatively less longterm motivation. Who will stick around are the hardcores, who thoroughly deserve bracket 1 spots.

Yall just salty af and try to push narratives here.

PvP right now is utter dog****. Half the people are AFK, naked, in greens or all of that. No one does any tactical play in any of the BGs.

And farming green geared ****ters is fun only for so long. People getting better gear to start with offers actually more fun in pvp than facing people with no gear constantly and roflstomp all day. But then again, not everyone is up for competition.

  12. Totally agree regarding the current PVP scene and it was mentioned bazillion times, if only someone heard us and cared about it.

But also, multiple guild leaders commented, not just one. Also, the people I see in wsg and AB the most commented here like Butkus, Fadge, and others who have different forum names ...you know, the people that actually play the game, not some PVP nobodies that are desperate to get a seat at the table where they didn't contribute to anything.

Anyway, since we are providing suggestions- I wanted to play an alt on Onixiya to pair with a buddy's main for arenas.... Since Blackrock is the obvious choice for pvp alts, I actually can't make a team with my friend unless he also makes the same toon on Blackrock...which would be backwards as why not gear the same toon and have all your efforts put into your main.

It is only fair to put PVE gear for points on Onyxia as well. Gearing an alt was already going to be hard without Blackrock, but now that we will have that realm, it is fair we are given the same treatment and opportunitiy to gear.

  13. I haven't been here for many years so I may not have a vote, but I gave up on retail now for sure and gonna stick around here now so am gonna share my opinion regarding this since I enjoy pvp.
Idea of merge is excellent, otherwise pvp is never gonna be better on private server with this much population. At first it's gonna suck for onyxia players "me included", but that is normal when ever u lvl up new char... eventually good pvp players from Onyxia are gonna face roll past those instant geared black rock and u are even gonna feel sry for them for resoling new classes every day. The ONLY thing I think would be nice and fair is to make a separate ladder for pvp ranking for each realm. Cause grind on Onyxia is much bigger. So rank #1on Onyxia and rank #1 on black rock shouldn't get same treatment. Eather way its going to be much more pvp and I believe it's fair sacrifice to let lazy ppl join us grinders in at least that part of game. World pvp is still safe on Onyxia, it's not like black rock instants Can camp u in. hellfire.

It probably won't be much different in TBC honestly. TBC didn't have daily arena points and according to the Onyxia phase schedule we won't see season 2 until Black Temple/Hyjal is out. So every serious player will be battleground gear capped in less than a month. After each arena season launch you might just see people popping in to get the pieces they missed last season.

I expect to see Solo Queue be introduced as a substitute for 5v5 which is the highest arena point gain. And then BIS players will be selling 2v2 rating and possibly even duo queue for maximum points. So I expect battlegrounds to be left with people cycling in and out with lower quality gear and then arenas just being a once a week 10 games for a lot of people.

No doubt you will always have the crazy hardcore players, but most players ride the wave of excitement and then burn out/get bored.

  15. I 100% agree with this change, as I am sure history tends to repeat itself in the private server TBC PvP scene. Punch line… TBC ARENAS always just die out. A huge part of the reason behind that is… the grind.. people want to make alts… people have to leave for a while and then when they come back they find them self all out of sorts and can’t get into a raiding guild that has a full roster so they just end up quitting because they can’t catch up and get an unfair advantage being so behind on gear in arena. It happens. There is so many variables I can’t even name right now. In conclusion this is a GREAT change and hopefully keeps the pvp scene alive on both servers. Now.. that being said things can be adjusted to make it fair. Like for instance Blackrock realm can have higher rating requirements on gear and other changes. This making playing onyxia still has some benefits for the arena scene to the more casual paper. I wrote this quickly on my iPhone before I went to bed but I think you get the point. This is a good healthy change if done correctly.

    MAKE TBC GREAT AGAIN
