1. The addition of blackrock balances the game since now pvp players can play the game mode they want (pvp)
And pve players can keep skiping pvp as always and do the game mode they want (pve)
Players who like both can still do both can roll a normal char on ony and pve and pvp with it or have one for pve in ony and other for pvp in blackrock

For years pvp players where forced to grind pve because "yes" well we are in 2024 we are no longer kids.
Every blackrock hater should consider what would hapen if pvers where forced to grind 2k rating before joining raids
Similar grind to what pvprs have been forced for years in order to be competitive.
Most of pvers are legit backpedalers so they wont be able to raid ever and will eventually leave the game, since they dont have thousand hours to play.

I can't pair my alt on Blackrock with an Ony main. I wanted a duo with a buddy - my alt and his main. Having an alt on Onyxia brings a significant disadvantage in this case

I will be playing on Onyxia to play with people there, then on Blackrock to play with my blackrock-only buddies. Making an alt on Onyxia would be the same amount of work if blackrock was here or not.

This change will allow more people to play with more people. Mainly because it's bringing in a huge amount of people that would have otherwise not played this server at all.

Yes, it would have been the same amount of work for all if we only competed with Ony people and that's fair. However, now that we have Blackrock, it becomes even harder as we can't raid on our alts as well especially if they are a class that is not very popular. Hence why I think PVE items should be put on store for AP points on Ony as well to even out the playfield.

No Blackrock player would have any issue with that, but let's be honest, a TON of Onyxia people would cry about it. I think towards the end of the season the PVE items on Blackrock should also be available to Onyxia people via arena points that way the end of the season push is fair for everyone. (im a blackrock player)

Why would they cry about it? We said that we don't want Blackrock to crossrealm with us. Now that we know it is happening, I don't see who will oppose the PVE itwm change considering the alt situation.

Also, I didn't think Blackrock would oppose this either. I am not suggesting this in an attempt to frustrate someone, just providing arguments since that is what was asked from us.

I would play a lot on Onyxia too if the alternative gearing path using arena points / honor would be available there as well, suggested this earlier in the post here too, because I prefer everyone to have equal gear no matter how it is being achieved.

  8. Wow how has this thread not died yet? This is literally the length of a book now. I looked at this Blakeatron guy and he has 81 posts on the forums, and they're all in this thread... aren't you guys tired yet? XD

The pure PVE andy's wouldn't be ok with that change. The same reason blizzard didn't implement something like that in classic.

Ok, you are literally mocking the community for playing the game and act surprised when they don't want to play with you. It was stated you need us in the first place, so I suggest you fix your berating comments. They don't contribute to anything anyway.

What's your point exactly? This is the only thread that's alive that pertains to me. You want me, a blackrock player, to provide input on Onyxia PvE threads?!?

  12. Obviously we're going to have a crossrealm at the PvP level, there aren't enough people on blackrock to queue all day.
After those who are not happy about the gear and the investment, well listen you create your character on blackrock like everyone else.

  13. wait a second so you say im investing my time in my char without any point? cause blackrock gonna be cross-realm that's bull**** if it happens im insta leaving,i bet devs gonna fk this **** up

  14. If this is true then this is dumb, 0 incentive as a PVP player to play Onyxia. They would have to reset gear on Blackrock otherwise P1 of TBC just queuing up against P4 PVP geared Blackrock players, but even if they did reset this is not a good move cross-realming a realm you can just buy all your gear and a progression server makes no sense, played wow since Dec 2004 and played a lot of private servers along the way and this might be the dumbest thing to come from a private server if this is true, makes absolutely 0 sense. Onyxia PVP will die if you do this, been a TBC waiting room for the last 8 months please don't ruin it and keep Onyxia as its own realm.

That is a good question and nobody can answer that for you but here are some things to consider:

First of all, it is a pixel video game character so you are already investing time into something without purpose by default since you could have spent your time on far more useful activities to build yourself.
Next you have to ask yourself, is your Icecrown character useless because Blackrock exists?
What kind of player are you? Are you a Pvp only player that has absolutely zero interest in going through the roleplay grind and no need of replacing your social circle with some Wow players while at the same time keeping your character competitive at your own pace without being slaved into a raiding schedule, the mercy of your loot council or other factors?
Then Blackrock is probably the realm of your choice.

If you however desire to get the "full" Wow experience including Pve content and dungeon or rep grinding as well then you should probably pick Onyxia.
There are also different kinds of Pvp players, if you are already established in a raiding guild with your future arena partners on Onyxia knowing you have a core spot for TBC and the time to invest into it then you can start ahead of everyone else on Onyxia too, since the realm will launch approximately two weeks prior to Blackrock. And you can prepare a lot more to be ready for the upcoming content.

As a solo player you will most likely have a hard time finding decent arena partners as the game is really old and the community, especially for arena gameplay is incredibly small.
The existence of Blackrock might also upset account sellers since some Onyxia accounts could drop in value, who knows.
Is raiding on Onyxia useless because you will get most items in the store after a while?

Answer some of these questions and you should figure out where to play or if you are investing time without any point.
