for me its more blizzlike guide, not moltenlike
why? simple:
- your hit cap is funny.
- burst on 85 lvl dummy with 720 k damage done (nice proof).
- the remaining screens also does not convince me, look like hagara (she have 72% hp...)
and you write somting like...
i laugh srsly arms numer uno atm btw. + he have gurthalak hc
Lol i think its funny that
'dummys not where fury shines in raids at burst i gurantee you will laugh at the out dpsing.'
Its true to a certain extent but the burst dps is not the thing you prioritize really.. its the constant dps/substained dps... so Arms actually wins really automatically :) I critizie the hit raiting and expertise a lot but you should have 20 expertise but the hit raiting is very questionable to molten standards... Still i question a lot about this guide since your dps is kinda low at Hagara... but nontheless a good guide i guess? It's a bit missleading according to molten mechanics :)
Arms warriors are better but if you play fury properly you can normally out dps.
Hitcap= 3 builds for fury they all require hit soft cap the cap is designed to help white melee which are really strong and normal top 3 on fury dps but also since its main source for generating rage. It may seem funny to people who are new to fury.
Burst= it was posted on the first day of the guide before other screenies came so i had no choice and it had been requested by a few.
Screen= Fury is bursting class so it seems fairly convenient to post burst at different bosses but if they not good enough i will search screenshots for bosses i did and killed but i dont play cata anymore so i deleted it.
Also it is suited for molten for example you would want 26 expertise on retail
1. retri pala do much better burst 80k+ with ****ty gear
2. i do not write anything about expe i know about 20, but i play on 18 and dont see any diffrence
3. hit do not works on 2h wep on main hand (3 or less and still no miss), off hand i think 8 its cap. (on molten ofc)
4. I agree but with you, but I see no effect.
maybe you think Im a troll, but i tested all a long time ago and its does not work
1) this is a fury warrior guide nothing to do with rets i myself play classes for fun not how much dps they do + i would like to see a ret do 80k+ with ****ty gear
2) you wrote about how this is not a molten guide and i gave you an example
3) your wrong if you think 2h main hand is 3hit or less and off hand is 8 since hit works on fury warriors and you probably miss like 1/4 your melee attacks. Fury requires 13% soft cap atleast for generating rage. I bet you would be rage starved+lose alot of dps with that much hit.
@kelz yea that was hagara after like 2 phases so i lost alot of dps during that time:)
I really disagree with you.. I have never seen a fury warrior beat a arms warrior in a fair duel with equal gear so in dragon soul of course... i really don't believe you at all sorry :) Well yeah maybe... I see and okay... And then it was my fault to throw out my words :) Ah i see well i have not done hagara that much but my highest dps i did was on madness but that is because of the buffs :) Althought i would be curious to see you agesnt some Arms warriors in raids to be honest (I dont mean scrubs i mean serious players)
I know what you mean but in fights like morchork>zonzozz>ultra fights which require you to be on boss around 90% of time is what i mean in i have done it if i can find screens from gruns i can show but i dont plan on playing cata for a while since i deleted it as dragon soul is the most boring instance on earth and i moved to wotlk so soon my friend:)
Yeah maybe but i still would think Arms would be the winner at the end since Fury has not so much substained DPS to offer compare to the Arms warrior. So i still stand by my point that Arms would beat Fury in that regard but who knows maybe i am wrong. Aww that sucks... Not that WOTLK has much to offer you then ****ty TOGC and broken Ulduar... The only thing i would say is nice to run is ICC but i got so ****ing tierd of that instance after struggling like almost a whole year with bugs and finally killing that son of a ***** with months and months of practise. Now it works almost like it should (Not 100% by any means nessecary) but still now it doesn't matter anymore cause everyone can steam roll it :) Back in the days when people raced for the first LK 25 HC when the encounter was pretty broken to begin with XD At least we got the first kill of the whole molen community so i am proud of that!
Sorry for going so off topic but it would be nice to see those screenshoots and yeah Dragon Soul is indeed boring. I enjoyed Firelands much better to be honest even if it had its moments of bugs XD Im looking at you Lord Rythloth! Or how the **** you spell hes name! But it was ****ing satisfying to kill Ragnaros first of whole molten (without any bug abusing i might add) IM LOOKING AT YOU THAT RANDOM SAGRGERAS GUILD! XD Lol too much brag in a post but regardless you got the point :)
Meh on nelth i beat most arms warriors on morchork>zonzozz and ultra but i switch to arms on other fights:_)
yea i cant find screenies maybe theirs some on laptop after i get it fixed i will search and yea wotlk now looks pretty promising and omg rag hc first time was so intense since it was stressful and Ryoilth(i think thats how u spellit) cant wait to do lichking hc looksss sooo goood
Ah i see that sucks that we don't play on the same realm XD Really? Hmm interesting... Well i am rusty and not fully geared yet so... I can't really compete that well but i can try at least haha! Yeah that sucks and i hope you will find them and wotlk look promising? I got bored of that crap ages ago but it was my friends who made it all worth it... Yeah RAG HC FIRST TIME **** YEAH hahahah XD I remember those times... Yeah Ryolith was a real *****! Even Alysrazor we had a hard time with sometimes due to noobs and lag XD Yeah LK HC is a real ***** if you have not attempted or practised him before but he is easier now then was he used to be when he was ''harder'' and more ''broken'' XD
Excellent guide Kevinator. You prompted me to return to fury a while back.
Since then, I've tested fury for a while and here is what I've found. I thought Ill just add it to this thread instead of making my own post.
1. For fury, Hit rating is king. I've set mine at 18%
Fury's success lies in being enraged cuz that gives you 10+% dmg buff and allows you to use raging blow. Since you have chance to be enraged by melee hits, You can increase your Enrage uptime by adding hit rating to your gear.
The change is really drastic and noticable, the 18% hit cap is way better than 13%. I've observed that 8% hit is severely too low, im usually not enraged and waste every other GCD.
Some players have observed that Fury is bad at lower ilvls, this is primarily because of low hit rating. Having enough crit for 100% Flurry uptime is another factor, but not as significant as hit rating. Fury WILL work just fine at any ilvl if you can get enough hit rating.
2. The absolute 27% cap is excessive, so I advise you to tinker your hit between 15% and 27%, as low as possible until you are able to confortably hit the boss every global cooldown, either with a) passive enrage Raging blow, b) Berserker Rage raging blow c) instant Slam. As a manner of reiterating, you are using Bloodthirst every other GCD, dont use Raging blow or Slam when you can use bloodthirst instead.
3. 18% hit rating also gives you a lot more rage and thus many more heroic strikes. I've had times when i could spam HS for the entire duration of inner rage, (with my regular rotation). Thanks to that lovely t13 2set bonus.
3. The t13 warrior set bonuses are so much more valuable for the Fury warrior.
2 set: Fury warriors can increase their rage generation with more hit, so we are able to spam the cheaper heroic Strikes for whole inner rage duration, which arms simply cannot do.
4 set: We don't have Sudden Death talent as fury, but with the 4 set we do, on automatic. Every 3 sec we have 6% chance to proc colossus smash debuff that lasts 6 seconds. Add this to the normal 6 secs of colossus smash we use on demand every 20 seconds. Amazing bonus for fury, and somewhat redundant for Arms.
4. Be able to mastery gear switch in raid bosses where you burst immediately at pull.
In countdown prepull, 1. wear a set with MAXIMUM mastery, 2. pop death wish, 3. switch to your regular set, 4. Tank pulls, and you get to the boss 5. pop all other cds+pot. Your burst at pull will be unreal, and rest of the fight you will dps as you normally do. If your raid bloodlusts at pull. the deal is that much sweeter.
If you use this technique, make sure you have at least one talent point in Die by the sword. You will yank the aggro off a pug tank more often than not :D. 2/3 or 1/3 Blood craze + Die by the sword, is better that 3/3 Blood craze. You want to have that safeguard to protect you in case boss starts to melee you.
Of course, you dont want to mastery gear switch for bosses like Alyzlazor, Warlord Zonozz, lord Ryolith, ascendant council etc
5. Colossus smash,
When you have death wish up, you should be able to use it 2 times during death wish. 1 time during recklessness. Same deal with trinkets.
Try to pool your rage a little when colossus smash is close to come off cooldown (by holding back heroic strikes). Then let heroic strikes fly after you use colossus smash
Try to use inner rage when you colossus smash so you can dish out many more heroic strikes. With the 20 sec and 30 sec cds, You can have inner rage up every other Colossus smash if you use both the instant they are off cd.
The day of the Fury warrior draws ever closer! We shall all become face smashing trucks of destruction!
Thank you and yea this is basically all right but the builds set are set 13% 18% and max hit 3 builds each which gives around the same amount of dps. But the hybrid fury i found out after some tests when i first started fury that 18% is enough for rage regen and procs (you should try rolling gurth and bonelink you will laugh at the damage) and after speaking to a guildie war we also found 27% hit to be extremely hard (only with hit gems)to reach and not needed. As for mastery gear switching i have never tried it mainly because i lag at start but also since its not 100% realiable I mean getting locked into mastery gear with full gems mastery will just fail you so badly but hey its op.
T13 i love the 2 set bonus and 4 set its extremely op for fury ( i also like the 4 set for prot wars)
Only thing i probs wont do is take die by the sword its a meh talent. Overall you have done good :) glad someone else tested it
Fury will rise again and crush the meters infact fury will create its own meters!
Yeah man 27% hit is probably out of reach and will gimp rest of our abilities.
The mastery gear switch tactic is applicable if you have your raid leader uses a countdown prepull. My guild raids always have those countdowns. I use a macro to do the whole thing, so i generally lose just 3 out of 30 seconds on Death Wish.
Getting stuck in mastery set with leather/intel items is very ugly indeed. I did get stuck in mastery gear 2 times when i first tried it, but after that it has worked every time. Even in pugs where i use the macro when the tank starts moving toward boss and I'm ready 2 secs before tank even gets aggro.
On ultraxion i was able to reach a max of 165k dps after first 15 secs. At the end of boss fight I still had 56k, and I dont even own a Guthalak or Bonelink yet. My gear is nondonor bis, except trinkets and weapons. I think it will work even better for you since you have superior gear and you are a solid player.
I think you are right about Die by the sword. it is completely useless if you have a standard tank who is able to hold aggro. I like having it as insurance so i dont get oneshot by a boss at pull due to the huge burst. It has saved me on some pug fights, but i have never needed it when fighting in a guild run with a proper tank.
Kevinator could you list below Addons you use? :) The guide is excellent, thank you for this, but I wanted to try addons u have also :)
