Dairy Queen is a fast food place that serves primarily ice cream (milk shakes, ice cream cones, etc) and whatnot, and has burgers and stuff on the side.
Anyway, it was an analogy. My point was that we keep the Cataclysm server in place, but we primarily don't support it with development and have said that specifically via announcements and many many posts on the forum. And yet, people are still upset that it doesn't get fixes. It's not going to get any fixes. People should stop being mad about it and either A) just enjoy the realm for what it is, or B) find a place that is more suitable for their preferences. You know, like not getting pissed off when Dairy Queen doesn't serve Big Macs or Rodeo Burgers, because then people are just going to look at you funny.

But you really can't compare Dairy Queen to serving Big Macs to Warmane used to support Cataclysm and no longer does simply because Dairy Queen never offered Big Macs.
(Never heard of Rodeo Burgers so I won't comment on that.)

Ok maybe i missed it. Pls show where in the dev log updates you said youre not supporting Cata anymore? The last mention of Cata in the dev log is from may 10th and its about the release of TolBarad.
And ironically that dev log ends with "We will continue to provide new updates and features over the next few months, as usual."
The reality is much different as you want to portrait it. In fact is the contrary. Youre not telling player that you stopped development. Youre keeping them in the dark and in the hope that you will start working on it again.

It was mentioned way back when the intention was to actually close Cataclysm and transfer players to Mists, but players pretty much begged us not to. We kept the expansion, under the explicit condition that Cataclysm would still receive some fixes, but have the lowest priority - or, as Mercy worded it, not have primary support in development. After that, this was repeated multiple times, both by Staff and players who paid attention.

I guess no one in the Cata section of the forums pays attention than. Why would people there wait for updates if its just so out there that the server will not get any dev attention anymore?
Can you please provide:
- that specific announcement that says Cata will not get anymore fixes
- those many many posts (from staff) in which its said that Cata will not get any more attention
- the way back then where you told the server will not get any more fixes (quote by Mercy "It's not going to get any fixes")
Why are you trying to bull**** your community is beyond me.

No, they didn't miss it, and many paid attention. They simply assumed "not a priority" would mean still being a priority higher than what we meant, I guess.
No, I won't do that, you're free to use the Search function for that if my post doesn't suffices.
No, Mercy didn't say there aren't going to be any fixes. That's what you want to read so you have something to ***** about.
No, we aren't bull****ting our community, as we were open and clear about the desire to close Cataclysm and the fact we only didn't because a vocal group asked us not to, but that resources diverted to that expansion would be vastly reduced.

It's not a comparison. It's a metaphor. It's not supposed to be perfect. The point is to give you an idea, which you very well did. So unless you're arguing for the sake of arguing, as you often do, I don't see the point in your response.
I said the expansion isn't a priority. It may get fixes at some point, but don't complain that it's not getting any.
If that's the case, then why are you still ****-posting on DQ's website? You should consider moving on completely. Just going half-way doesn't address the issue I presented.
This thread was mostly dead and got revived for people to complain about Cataclysm when Cataclysm has nothing to do with the subject of the thread. Therefore, I am going to close it.
