Great guild, but sadly Santori is a bit of a dictator... I have raided with the guild literally since the first clear of Molten Core, was part of the main raid group ever since. All was going well until I made the major mistake of questioning Santori... My IRL friend made an unnecessary comment after we wiped a bunch of times during Naxx progress. That got him immediately kicked by Santori. I made the mistake of asking why my friend was kicked, which only enraged Santori more... All he had to do was tell me he doesnt want to discuss this with me, but instead he decided to also kick me from the guild. Honestly that was a bit of a shock to me. I have spend pretty much every sunday raiding with them for like 8+ months. I have very much expected to raid with them in tbc and even in wotlk. I even had a very friendly chat with Santori about my future in the guild one day before I got kicked...
Look I know it is just wow, just a game, whatever... but I spend 8 months raiding with these guys every week and I think I have more than pulled my weight. So to get kicked for literally asking a question was very disappointing to say the least. If at least Santori let me say my piece, but he kicked me with no warning and then immediately blocked me... Again sure, it is just world of warcraft, but I just dont think this is a fair way to treat someone you have been spending every sunday evening for 8 months. All just because I have asked why my best friend was kicked... really dont understand how I was in the wrong here...
Now I do understand that sadly Santori is not the kind of person to admit, that maybe he didnt, treat me right, but what am I gonna do... Yeah now I am just a whinny little bit*h here. Dont know why I care that much, but I just expected more, maybe I expect Santori to admit that he didnt handle my situation all that well. Yeah probably not gonna happen... But just dude... you always talk about how the community was #1 for you and I have been nothing but nice to you all. I really dont think I have done such a big mistake to warrant a kick, but whatever. Feel free to ignore this, but it would be nice if you didnt. In the end it doesnt matter though since I am sadly done with Onyxia because of this unnecessary incident.
If any mod sees Kruzls post, please dont delete it for drama, i want it to stay here because i think its useful for anyone interested in joining us to understand how i handle those issues which were mentioned.
At the end of the day a great guild doesnt happen accidentally, someone has to lead it and set the ground rules for its community. While many view leading as a mean to achieve their personal goals, i see it as a honor and responsibility to serve others so that we can achieve our shared goals (e.g. im the worst geared healer among our raiders, while being one of the most active - the community itself is what brings joy to me). Unfortunately you cant make it right to everyone and sometimes there are hard decisions to be made, but that is also part of my "job". And if thats gonna make someone dislike me, call me names, or whatever - so be it.
Everyone is entitled to his own POV, but i will repeat the same i said on our internal discord multiple times: Everything happens for a reason, and most our people know i do things only for a good reason and backed with solid arguments. Nevertheless i never discuss such topics in public, because i dont want to speak ill of anyone and whatever leads to removal from the guild is strictly between that person and me as the highest representative of the guild. And trust me, having the responsibility to remove people when justified and needed is no fun for me - but someone has to make the hard decisions at the end of the day.
Once again, i do not believe this is a topic for the public due to my previously stated stance, but ill give you and anyone reading this a thing to think about: Most peoples issue within any community start when they start feeling entitled to getting what they want for themselves, while slowly ignoring and disrespecting rules and their responsibilities within the community.
On a personal note to you: I rarely ask anyone to understand my POV, but i do encourage people to think about everyone in the community because once you start thinking from that POV, things become a little bit more clear and look way different. Im proud of the communities i built in my past 18y of guildleading, and i have made many great friends along that road, eventually meeting most of them irl too. Unfortunately there are other scenarios too, as nothing lasts forever, and people part ways due to various reasons and sometimes you have to make hard cuts, because you are responsible not only for your guild, but yourself too. From my POV most leaders quit because they are not equipped with the skills and experience to handle people management over a longer period of time, thus leading to the leaders quitting and guilds dying eventually. I am a trained professional who works in management for 10y+ in a big multinational corporation, so my ways might look odd to you or some other individuals - but i believe i am doing it right, sticking to certain principles and applying the same rules to everyone, the members, officers, and myself, while giving everyone multiple chances and being open to any civil discussion at any given time. Does that make me a dictator? Maybe, i guess its highly subjective depending on your personal POV. But here we are, one year later, being what you call a great guild yourself.
I am truly sorry that your removal still bothers you after so many weeks, but i sincerely hope this message will broaden your POV a bit and give you the opportunity to close this chapter. Cherish the happy memories, forget the bad ones, and move on, because life certainly will.
With our three raid rosters we can accept almost anything, as we have a lot of rotational raiders. The only thing i would rule out is Rogue, while Warrior might be difficult.
If you guys are still recruiting, i'm looking for a pve guild to raid with, for more details dm me in game (Subkkar) or on discord (Subkar or Sub#8175).
I'm currently playing a Warlock, joined the server recently, i have played WOW previously but only a lifetime ago (my las expansion was Legion) and i barely remember much of it, count me as a noob.
