I for one was very dedicated at the start of Onyxia, cleared up to BWL and ZG. Took a break, but when I wanted to come back, the server had taken a downturn.

All the "Vanilla-things" just inevitably lead to low population. It's not Warmane's fault.

Definitely waiting for TBC until I hop back on the Onyxia wagon. Looking forward to Arenas, reduced "grind fest" around consumables, quality of life features, the launch experience etc.

Late Vanilla is just too niche of an experience and time sink for me. But I understand that's the point of Onyxia, it caters to people who want that. Unfortunately there's just not many of them.

I think Warmane tried to make Vanilla more accessible to working age people by adding features like:
    - RDF
    - Reduced Raid size from 40man to 25man
    - 3x experince rate

But Vanilla is so different from the other expansions. The dungeons are long and have pretty much no replayability, there is no real incentive to do them more then 2-3 times each. This is why at this point the Dungeon queues are taking 2 hours on average for a pop. It's not Warmane's fault, there is nothing they can do about it. The Vanilla design just doesn't encourage players to log in every day and do something in the game.

Even more then replayable dungeons. The Vanilla economy is very dull and simple. Which makes it so there is not that much interaction between players in the end game.

On top of that you have the World buffs culture, which encourages PVE players to NOT play the game, because they lose duration on their buffs...

I pray and hope that the majority of the amazing work Warmane did to make Outland-TBC happen a couple of years ago can be reused on Onyxia and we will see another iteration of what I believe was the best private TBC server ever released soon.

Just wanna weigh in as an Onyxia player that is currently inactive: i am not playing because i am disappointed in how AV is being handled and the current situation with RDF, i will start playing again when TBC opens, or if AV gets a rework that would break the troglodyte bridge meta.

so ur saying ur guild got disbanded but u got Realm First? Sry to say but the guild that got it still plays very active.

"There's just nothing to do on the server anymore." and 1 line later ur say it requires alot of farming etc. Theres way 2 MUCH to to in vanilla always. Population is high, every zone is active tbh.

Can’t understand the people who cry on the forums everyday.. just appreciate the hard work that has been done by Warmane? Instead of crying, go play the game and enjoy. You are all here and playing for free.

Exactly! Onyxia is great server, but i'm also looking forward to TBC.

It is a fairly good server, with naxx being released on july 20th, I dont see TBC coming out until november or so.

Gives me time to farm up gold and do some rep but thats just to kill time until tbc.

  10. I think TBC should come sooner than later. I recently returned to play and it's not as popular as it once was.

It has little to do with 'popularity'. Server population is mostly EU raid-loggers whose guilds already farmed everything of value and are waiting for Naxx and then TBC release...

  12. Classic is really dragging. Get it over with already and go on to TBC.

I think Classic should be a 6 month server, TBC 1 year and WOTLK 1 year. Classic is low energy, low content and low skill compared to later epic expansions.

I never understood this. You don't like it, so F everyone who does?

  14. Mercy, if you look with an open mind at the player data, do you not see a server with dwindling player count? Long BG & Dungeon queues? Lower auction house & farming & profession activity? All signs of life trending downward.

And when you see that, does it not make you question the duration of the server? Why is it that 3 very different expansions all magically and coincidentally take 365 days to enjoy, no more, no less? A shorter Classic would show improved player metrics and revenue. More than half the player base has left to play other games until TBC arrives. It seems selfish to drag something out that only a minority are enjoying, when if TBC were released sooner, both the TBC crowd and the current Classic crowd would be happy to get playing.

  15. We're not going to ditch and disrespect our players who are enjoying playing Vanilla, nor go back on our word about the duration this expansion would have, just because you want it "over with." You go play something else if you don't want to play Onyxia's current content.
