1. Yeah, no kidding! Ofc it's the people that create faction imbalance. Nobody wants to play on a faction that has weaker PVE racials, nobody wants to play on a faction that has fewer raiding guilds, nobody wants to play on a faction that loses BGs 80% of the time, I can keep going but I think you get my point. We are here asking what is Warmane going to do about it?
    Going to assume nothing.

Merc mode was enough to tell us that. By having merc mode, they removed one of the only incentives horde had for rerolling (or newcomers to roll on alliance in regards to pvp), and that was extreme BG que times. They have done the opposite of give a flying crap about the situation, and alliance will be completely destroyed in a month post TBC release if other servers are anything to go by.

  2. So alot of chitchat but the question still remains...
What are we going to do about the faction imbalance?

Every zone is filled with horde pvpers, corpsecamping. Cant even quest properly. Theres always multiple hordes ganging up on me lol... >>

Outland is going to be a pretty small place for 12k players, imagine if theres 2k more hordes than alliance players scattered around the few maps. Every alliance will either leave or reroll at some point.

The issue is that there is quite literally nothing that can be done outside of making the server PvE

There is no issue, and just because a few people got camped and can´t deal with it doesn´t mean a whole realm needs to change to your liking.

Not being able to emotionally deal with a gank, or fight off the opponent(s) may be less of an issue than an inability to do things such as farm primals or do necessary quests.

Honestly? Likely very little. Even if we made the realm PvE, faction balance would still be an issue for certain parts of the game.
One could only hope that the community would enforce faction balance by itself, but that will have about the same chance as a snowball surviving in hell.

That is correct. Lets say, you are in such a situation: One or more People keep you from doing the named Tasks. That means, the other party is in control over the spot you are bound to do your tasks. Then your options are either to come back later, or gather enough people to drive the aggressors out. You will always and for ever run into these kinda things on a PvP Server. In some way even in a PvE Server, because people always find a way to grief or disrupt your gamepay experience.

And as i said somewhere in the Thread before: More People doesn´t mean that those People take part of these kind of things or are even interested in it. The Factions and People need to settle this on their own, and not by demanding intervention from the Staff.

People need to learn to adapt and communicate with other people instead of just insulting each other.

  8. You're missing the point, not sure if on purpose or not.

If you are on a side that is 80% of he population, chances are you'll hardly ever not be on the "party in control," and vice-versa. In the same way, if you are on the 20% side, chances that you will be able to "gather enough people to drive the aggressors out" is that much smaller, but not as small as the chance you'll manage to hold it when they easily get a much bigger group, which you then can't "gather enough" to combat.

  9. yeah it's terrible

give free transfers from horde to ally
give free normal mount to ally, with maybe a discounted 60 mount
give 3x professions to alliance (only till 300)
    give Queue skip
    etc

Needs to happen all at once, with an official message in login screen
goodluck, none of this will happen

  10. agreed
some alliance perks would be great.
x2 rep, reduce the cost of riding, etc.
I agree with Mercy and it will become an issue when alliance wont be able to quest/farm.
Its rather easy to reroll to horde.

Doing nothing will only make it worse. We're probably looking at a 35(A)-65(H) shortly after the Dark Portal.

  11. What I remember blizzard did on their new realms is lock the creation of new characters to Hordes, so new players can create characters from the Alliance side. Or if they want to transfer from an existing server to the new (fresh) one they can only Alliance and not Hordes so as not to unbalance like their old servers with 99.99% Horde and measly 50 people (0.01% Alliance). A similar scheme can be used.

No, locking players out from making Alts while they already horde is a bad idea.
It should always be voluntary, the devs just want to want it enough to happen.
*another*pserv has already handled this issue successfully before

I agree with this. We need to add an incentive for new players to roll alliance.

  14. I've leveled both Alliance and Horde on this server... It is defiantly more one sided to the Horde. It must be 70/30. in favor to Horde.

It would be good to put incentives to roll Alliance, faster rep, lower cost of mounts faster xp for professions etc.

This server will die with everyone giving up and rolling Horde characters due to the imbalance.

This is coming from a player who prefers Alliance as well, but due to the imbalance I'll be taking my horde characters through the portal.

  15. Seeing how Mercy is actually paying attention and has a very good point of view over the situation, im sure something will happen.
    HOWEVER
The perks should happen before the launch of the Dark Portal, and not after. It may be too late by then. Lets attempt to make it as fair as possible before the 16th.

    Thank you!
