So only fighting for the tag on boss is allowed?
Who gets the tag first has a right to engage with the boss, others have to step back?
Rarely do I see one comment make such a difference. Thanks to the guy that posted the archived ruling by blizzard. It is absolutely in line with what the game should be about. Great decision on Warmane's part to seemingly share the sentiment that the archived post portrayed.
People greifing and defending it are not only disrespectful of others, but cowards.
I know nothing was "confirmed", but if a warmane mod says "I highly suggest not participating in same-faction "competition"".... That tells the story pretty clearly. I do hope that if it happens again, people get banned. If you participate in a world boss, record it, to guarantee fairness.
Love seeing the passion that the original creators had mimicked by the warmane team (not always, but when it's obvious, it sure is nice to see)
What has same faction to do with it anyway?
Few days ago we (Alliance) tried to pug it and 2 Horde druids just made it impossible by flying in and cycloning our tank(s). They stay away far enough they can't be touched before the fight starts. When the fight has started they fly in and NS-cyclone tank and/or taunt boss. There is no counterplay. It cant be prevented. There is no time to react. It's not PvP it's just straight up harassment.
So we have individuals admitting it they're doing it because they want to kill it with their own guild. So what im reading here that makes it okay all of a sudden? I came to check in on boss 4 hours later and the boss is still alive and the 2 druids are still hoovering there. (And blocking Horde guilds aswell).
So what if those druids are not part of a guild and are just doing it for fun. Is it disrupting gameplay then?
No, that's just PvP in a PvP server, the way it should be. Go get a bigger or better group and get rid of them. The issue with same-faction is precisely that you can't do that, as they won't ever be hostile to you and never open to being attacked.
I think it's kinda dumb that these world bosses have random 4-7 days respawn time which is WAY too long and makes so only most hardcore guilds can get them. I think it would be more fair if respawn timer on them was MUCH quicker with some ID or something so you can't get loot from them more often than every 7 days.
Feels like an arbitrary line to draw considering there's a number of things that are both intentionally and accidently implemented that are different from how they are supposed to work.
So why in your mind some things should stay blizzlike (even if they're obvious screw up on Blizzard's part) but other things which have nothing to do with TBC like dungeon finder should be there? Dungeon finder doesn't work well with TBC at all because you can't afford having dumbos in terrible gear in TBC heroic dungeons while in WotLK it works fine cause heroics are much easier there.
I think the problem a lot of people have is not that warmane can't do what they want, but that they are not logical in the choices being made. (as seen from the public)
So either people want more information as to why they are making the choices they are, or at least some communication other than "its arbitrary and they do what they want to do"
What is their vision for their server? I and many others certainly don't know. We are asking.
Obn has stated it before; that no matter what changes Warmane makes (or doesn't make), there will always be someone there to complain. They offer QOL changes for a 20-year-old game. It's pretty simple at the end of the day, and the server numbers speak for themselves.
Yeah, and I keep being proven right. In this very thread the fact Onyxia has RDF is being used as an "illogical change," when a) it's something optional and b) no change was implemented, we're running a WotLK core and client customized for Burning Crusade content, all that was done is simply not disable it.
So really, about the "vision" question, my answer will be a "offering the best private server." Maybe someone else in the Staff who deals with Community Management will want to go deeper, but not me. My over ten years here have more than taught me that sort of question is just a gateway to start arguments and nitpicking, any attempt to explain that often what players want isn't what's best for the server or the vision being moot. "Logic" seems to just mean "do what I want and don't do what I don't want," anything outside that becoming "illogical."
