What is the difference because it is ran on the WOTLK expansion instead of the vanilla? Is mostly everything the same or there are some notable differences apart from what is said on the main page? Eg. do we regenerate less hp and mana than in WOTLK and stuff like that?

just download the wotlk client from warmane , and select it from realm list. u dont need vanilla client
