1. Gotta agree on this one, well at least they tried :)
I don't think squish is worth effort for devs and discomfort for players made by it. After all few 2-3 and it will be same. Only who will actually suffer are those who lack info.

Should invent service for gold as long as purchased item is consumable or time limited. Good example would be your "transmog scrolls" or some fun stuff for gold. That could help a bit.

  2. The gold squish isn't done because of the well being of the economy, it only makes the economy worse. But the real reason behind the squish is to kill the coin farmers, force them to donate for coins.

  3. Yep, the economy was really good up until they announced the gold squish...since then, the economy has gotten worse and worse, and it will continue to get worse.

  4. Personally I think this idea is a bit foolish. The reason being is because I know many players that have multiple guild banks with tons of gold in them so even cutting that gold by half isn't going to effect those players. Sadly this 50% gold cut is only going to really hurt the little guy or new leveling players. I feel the only way to be fair to all is to not cut it by half but instead make everyone start again with no gold. Anyways that's my humble opinion. Warmane will do what it wants to do.... I just hope it works out the way you plan it.
By which logic you say new players (those with less gold) will be impacted more than those who have millions? Last time i checked

    P1 - 10.000 - 50% = 5.000 / which means the player 1 lost 5K gold
    P2 - 1.000.000 - 50% = 500.000 / which means the player 2 lost 500K gold (100 TIMES MORE THAN PLAYER 1)

Either we talk about "moral of the story" or we talk statistics and numbers. You can't mix those two together. The goal is to remove 50% gold out of the circulation. Meaning if on the realm there is a total of 1.000.000.000 gold in circulation they want to make that pool smaller by cutting 500.000.000 gold. That's all there is to it. All those "tactics" everyone keeps mentioning for saving their golds, everyone will do the same. Everyone will gather the mats/buy cheap whichever method is mentioned, everyone will do it. Meaning huge competition for prices because everyone will have mats. Those who say yes but rich will buy mats easier than us, yes so what? Why are you not rich? Ohhhh don't tell me you have 0 professions? You dislike farming? Grinding is boring? No luck with BoE drops? Yeah i understand, it is easier to cry for losing 5K gold :/

  5. Personally, I waited for the lowest prices of raw mats and bought as many as I could. Hell, I mightn't have made a profit back then, but in this very same moment I'm already incurring into profits and by the time the squish happens, I'll have the freedom to support determining prices for certain items. It might not be a place to brag about but I even managed to buy all of the Lichbloom offers a couple weeks ago (no more than 4) and since then the price has only skyrocket.

It's something that if you plan ahead it can lead to huge profits, hope y'all got time and patience to do it.

As for how it affects new players, it really does. Prices are going up because people attempt to trade their gold for other resources, but it's going to finish pretty soon so I don't think there isn't much to discuss about.

  6. There is a guy(s) with chars "Jwlry, Jctwo , Chanting" etc... like each profession at least few chars. All they do is multiboxing/undercutting AH 24/7. Could be even botting. WoW trading system overall is a joke.

  7. Primos Price just went 6-8k...and uncut gems went 1.5k+

  8. This whole thing...just not right.

"There is so many stuff to farm, so many options, so many ways to get gold. There will always be poor people who don't know to utilize full power of in-game gold gathering mechanics." A Quote from Stonemade.

Dude...you really need to think about this. You said "gathering mechanics". Please, then gather me 10 stacks of copper ore to sell, but finish your journey within 1:30 but 2:00 hours at max. You can't do that. Simply can't. In normal circumstances you probably can. But not here. Okay, sure, you can farm green/blue BoE stuff for selling to the enchanters...but this method is random, not like gathering, when you CAN utilize a farming path that suits you, and which is net you the most profit. End of story. Now keep defending your " Gold Squish is good for everyone GG nice work" idea and have a nice day.

  9. There is too much drama about this gold squish. What can i say, i play on Frostwolf and i had 20 milions made from the hack to present day and now they deleted 10 milions. So much time and hard work wasted. Have a nice day and lets hope that this will stabilize economy.

  10. Didn't read every single post of this thread, but here is what I'd imagine will happen:

Since the gold was halved, all prices will be cut by half, but the real value therefore (how many things can you buy per set amount of gold in community, so let's say for easiness that you can buy before 10 primos for 100k gold, now you have 50k gold cus its halved, but most likely the primos will either get down to 5k or by some people stay at 10k meaning that the price is not really reduced ESPECIALLY if gold rates are halved as well which means the new people have to work as hard to get those 50k then they would have had to get those 100k before) will remain the same, since we are halving both amounts.

Yes, there are few things that have set amount of price like repairs, mounts, riding, profession recipes etc.

HOWEVER who doesn't have them mostly? the NEW people. That means that this cant be taken in account for people who played here before, and since worth of those things increases it DAMAGES those who are new here, not helps them.

All in all you did basiccly what blizzard did in WoD. You reduced the numbers, but shortly after they'll be back and their worth after the squish has remained the same.

Your fault for not getting coins with it and then later just buying gold with said coins if you want that gold so badly. I mean, you knew about it in advance so I don't know why you are complaining.

  13. The only thing I've noticed is that prices have not just reduced by 50%, but instead by almost 80-90% in some cases, especially for gathered mats (like herbs, ore, etc.). This makes it extremely hard as a new player to start earning gold.

  14. There are ppl who hoard stuffs hoping to escape the gold squish and now they try to sell whatever they owned to regain their gold. That's why price reduce further when market is overloaded with tons of stuffs. Just wait a little longer for market to empty and price will probably go up again (just maybe, though price might remain the same).

  15. all i noticed after this "fix" is that i got less gold now and the prices remained the same, some went even higher
