1. I mainly don't play on retail because its overpriced.
Not that I couldn't afford it, I'm just not willing to give so much money to a company that I find more and more unsympathetic since the fusion with Activision.
Blizz still charges the same subscription costs like during classic wow times of like 13 euro per month and, as if this wasn't enough, every new xpac cost another 40-60 euro.
In addition the service prices are insane. 30 dollar for a faction change. What the hell?
If I wanted to start on retail and play for one year now I would have to pay a total of 190 euro.
Does Blizz realy deserve so much money for a 14 years old game?
Other games cost 60 euro and they were developed from scratch and have no sub fee.

Nowadays I consider Blizz nearly as greedy and rotten like EA games with Battlefront 2 and imo such things shouldn't be supported.
pretty much this. wow's not worth what they want you to pay for it.

  2. I got interested in the first page of these tangential discussions, but couldn't make it through the next few.

Anyone care to TLDR the argument points for me? :D

Is retail WoW doing microtransactions now (haven't actually played since cata)? Is Blizzard good or bad these days? How many bears in a conga line is enough bears to make a conga line?

  4. Do you even play Legion? To be honest, your comment was a crap. It is not a constructive comment at all.
Basically, you **** on Legion for some really stupid reasons which also had older expansions. (Don't like Legion 'cause it's green themed, while Wrath is frost, cold, blue almost the whole time during the expansion, but you know... Wrath is good, TBC, Vanilla? BEST. But, everything new is ****! -Every third private WoW player.
    I don't want to continue.

Auren, Skoobydoo gave you best answer. He is absolutely right in everything he stated.
I do play Legion.. not only legion, I'm retail player a while ago bro...
let me prove it for ya -.-" there:

And yes my post is constructive, since the guy asked us: is it worth or not, and I wrote a nice detail why it doesn't worth to play there - that's just my opinion, but for you to know, I'm not just telling a fiction here, I have something to be based on, and that's my retail experience through the years rock solid.
The only reason I blame all this legion theme so hard, is because no matter what direction the game is going, there's always be a legion crap story behind it! And it's boring. Okay, the game looks fancy, but they took away the essence of the game itself. They took away good stuffs, and replaced them with crap stuffs instead. I'm talking here about the daily quests, back in wotlk times, there were daily quests, which were boring, but at least we all knew how fast it ended, now every day it resets on the world quest map, and instead of killing "x bears" we kill "x demons", "x inquistors" (or wth they are the most annoying mobs in the game tbh, the ones who constantly have a knockback circling eye on the ground) xD ... so yea.. what they did? they improved graphics, dumbed all the talent system since MoP, and overcomplicated the whole game system with pokemon fighting pets, daily quests inside your classhall, daily quests inside daily quests of daily quests (duh), follower mission?!! should i continue? why are they doing this? it's a complete mess. I don't even bother to accept any quest nowadays, since I'm so disgusted from it. I do accept artifact wep quests, but that's all. That's my opinion, keep that in mind. And for you: respect other people, if they say something about their experience, do not question them stuffs like "do u EVEN play it" ? ... that's just not okay. This is why humanity is here, they don't believe in each other.. nevermind sorry for the offtopic in the last sentence :P

  5. Lemme give my input on this;

I played retail from late vanilla to end wotlk then i quitted and came back to pservers.
I came back to retail january 2016>may 2016 to try out Legion overall.
The main reason the wow retail lost pure essence of mmo rpg is simply beacuse.....there is nothing that requires help apart raids.Game focus went from mmo to single player along with lines of even more endless grind.
And on top of that gear means nothing anymore? For as long as i can rember gear was meant to display your showmanship of skill.

It also made you kill people faster. They took away that ,so why are you raiding now?Gear is useless and if gear is useless what do you use it for?World pvp? With all bilion tricks how to avoid it along with flying n ****.

Even proffesions are semi useless, apart from grinding gold n ****.Wow has lost it charm long time ago,so id rather spend my time here on pserver and enjoyit it all even if it means cashing out few extra bucks to Warmane then giving Blizz/Activision their share of spoils.

Unless retail vanilla is godlike i wont return.Tbc is most likely my final expansion to play since i experienced both bc /wotlk on retail and i burned out on Cataclysm 2 years in row.

Only thing kept me playing is multiboxing and arenas/partial bgs for giggles.
