Yeah, our racial is so op.
You can get titan forged rune that gives crit too. Take the mageblade and cosmos for dmg, **** stamina!

Grrr.. Alliance!!! x.X
For the horde! :P
Nevertheless... I'd rather have a significant increase in haste or crit than a minor increase in spell power....
Oh and thanks for the trinket advice :)
I'll use the rune ^^
Still, my question remains: Should I gear up in haste.. so that half of my offset contributes to haste, and the other to crit? (keeping crit chance just over 30%?) Personally i think it's worth it.. especially if I'm going to use spells stronger than scorch... would like a professionally opinion on the matter though!
Trust me... once you reach 45% crit strike rating... fire becomes so awesome.
I suggest stack crit as much as possible, forget haste unless you are FFB.
Haste lol? Srsly you dont need haste at all. Most fire spells are insta casts (consithering ofc that you use pyro only when hs procs and flame strike when firestarter procs). You always need more crit!
Improved the guide a bit, added arena section and some basic guide how to defeat each class in 1v1 situation. Have fun burning.
Healersyou cant kill an equally geared healer in 1v1,
WarriorVery hard to beat as a fire mage
DruidAlso very very hard to beat
Feral
Death KnightWhat can you do? They are anti-casters, they are supposed to be hard for you.
HunterYou are better off just running away, since they are so damn hard to kill, unless they are bad or you'll get lucky.
PriestShadow priest are kinda hard to kill,
Warlockthey are ridiculously hard to kill.
I am inspired to play with fire mage. Anyway, great guide and very well made explanation.
You're playing on Sargeras, go ask Multisnipe for a duel, hes on ally side
then come back and edit your post with "I was wrong, hunter beats mage." ;)
Just got to 1.8k rating with a balance dudu friend as comp :D (and did it from 0 to 1.8k completely fire >=D)
We did pretty awesome.
In any case, I'm hesitating about getting the wrathful sword and offhand.. I might go for the wrathful crit staff.. since it's an improvement on basically all stats except for less spell power than the sword+offhand (most evidently, about 500 more hp!).
What do you think?
Staff = more intelect and stamina
1 hand and off hand = more damage, slightly.
I would prefer a staff since i can place an 81 spellpower enchant on it and it looks better :D.
The author still lacks some PvP general knowledge but its still pretty well built.
gj
Dagger is like 80ish more spellpower, + it allows you to destroy totems way faster in arenas.
Dagger is +77 spell power
With the enchants it gets +60
but the staff gets +80.. so the overall difference is +57 spell power for the dagger
compared with an additional half a percent of crit, 500 or so hp and slightly more intellect, I think the staff is a more viable option.
Did you even read the guide?
A better gear set up than suggested in the guide (in my opinion):
Full wrathful Crit pieces
Loop of Endless Labyrinth- ring drops from lord Marrowgar (gives Hit and crit)
Pve wand (for more hit)
The enchants from the guide, but for the gloves, apply the +20 hit enchant instead.
For Gems:
All red gems: [+12 Spellpower, +10 Critical strike rating]
All blue gems: [+13 Spell Penetration, +10 Critical strike rating]
Yellow gems: [+20 Critical strike rating]
Reserve ONE yellow gem for [+20 Hit rating] (this will get you to hit cap without needing to use a hit cloak or necklace).
For weapons, the best one is the 3v3 crit staff, followed by the 2v2 crit staff, followed by the Crit and Dagger off hands.
For trinkets:
I prefer, a combination of:
Titan Forged Rune of Cruelty (like medallion, except gives you +90 crit instead of resilience)
and
Corroded Skeleton Key (gives you about 2k more hp and a 6.4k bubble- amazing survivability, like an ice barrier for fire mages!)
If you don't like the key, the next best option is Phylactery of the Nameless Lich (amazing burst).
With the above;
You'll get:
46-48% crit with fire spells (48% if you use Phylactery of the Nameless Lich)
4% hit (cap)
100 spell penetration (not capped, but close enough in my opinion)
2.8K spell power
29k health (or 26k without the Corroded Skeleton Key)
19k Mana
1.1k res
Opinions? :P
