logging in to game server since yesterday...After DC.
What's happening?
Hello disconnect after 10 minutes of playing time. Country Russia City Ruzaevka Internet RGTS "Parus" LLC
How many more days or months do you think they will fix the problem? They just don't give any information, whether they are working, whether they found the cause or not, nothing but yesterday's two hours of news that was deleted.
I see topic still actual despite today's morning fake stability.
Russia, Rostelecom.
atm 4 hours try to connect.
Dono if its just me but ive had similar problems to the rest of the people here but ive been trying to play on icecrown and there i have no problems. It seems to only be on frostmourn that i atleast get these disconects and its sad cause thats where my friends are.
I live in sweden btw
worked during morningtime yesterday, was super happy. Then DC's started again in the evening when i came home
We are still investigating the issue, the vast majority of the affected players seem to be located in Russia or Sweden.
We have checked everything we can on our server side, the issue seems to be a routing error. If you are affected and looking for a quick fix I would suggest trying to play through a paid VPN. (free ones are risky to land on banned IPs). I will keep posting updates as I get more info, sadly the issue is out of our direct control, we are doing everything we can to resolve it asap.
I never said anything was fixed, I said an unrelated issue which was causing realm instability on Frostmourne and Lordaeron was fixed and that players should not confuse the short-lived instability with the disconnection problems.
One is a login server, one is a realm server, when you are not on a realm you are connected to the login server, nothing weird going on here.
Edited: July 28, 2021 Reason: Correction about VPN use.
Thanks for the update! Been playing with VPN this morning and have not had any issues since I installed it.
Location: Sweden
Im not sure if it smart to play on a VPN since i heared a lot of people getting banned for using one.
As far as I understand it is because an IP have been used by goldsellers before. Do you know if this is an issue for paid VPN aswell?
Admin suggested you to play through VPN. Bans are automated due to their "free" IPs being source of spam and other things. Payed VPNs are excluded from such things. Everything seems logical to me - such dire demand and need to play being vocal on forum is sign that just 5-10$/month is not a big deal for dedicated players to keep playing game.
Server administration can not change how your ISP works and with whom they are making contracts for network routes.
I know that admin suggested the use of VPN, and it only seems logical to me aswell. However after reading posts about players using VPN services such as Nordvpn getting IP-banned I’m just curious If I should be worried.
