1. As mentioned before in this topic forget about PvP as fresh 80 or new player as the low ilvl bracket is filled with twinks with ICC25 weapons.
    Every game looks like this:
    https://i.ibb.co/9YG97Cb/pvplol.png

In some games there are even few of those guys as it is a full guild doing this in low ilvl bracket just to pray on fresh and new players with 3k gearscore.
I also have seen questions in BG channel from new players - Is this guy hacking?
And its understandable that you can think that way when you meet a player with ICC25 weapons going 40 kills with million damage. No surprise that a new player thinks - okay this guy has 5x kills 0 deaths and 5x damage as everyone else well I guess private servers pvp is full of hackers..
Dont understand how Warmane think this is okay. When you see amount of HKs those guys have it tells it has been going on for very long time. The only thing that I can think of why those people are not moved to Blackrock bracket is that they are donors and will stop donating if they will have to play on equal terms without the possibility to 1shot new players. How would you otherwise create a bracket when people with ICC25 weapons are matched vs blue geared players?

It was a nice initiative to create a BG for newly 80 players but the implementation is terrible full of loopholes and exploits.

The best PvP Warmane ever created was Frostmourne + Blackrock season when everyone had equal gear and bgs were awesome but for some reason it got ditched..
Thank you for bringing this up, as I have also noticed that this is still a big issue. I'd like to bring the GMs attention to this as eventhough there are great fixes implemented, people still blatantly abuse the gear bracket system.

Just quoted you to make sure you see this. A report has already been sent through the proper channels but I'm posting this here because I feel like the openness of the forum staff and the members of the community has opened up a really valuable discourse on how to proceed forward when these situations occur. Playing with some friends while we were gearing and questing we noticed this guy in one of our BG's quite literally oneshotting everyone. We decided to see how he even ends up in our battlegrounds and quickly got the answer.

This person ques up for BGs with literal level 60 gear, level 70 blues and only one trinket. After he gets a BG (in the low geared bracket) however he joins and equips DBW normal, Frost Giants Cleaver HC and Icecrown Glacial Wall normal and switches literally all of his offset to 245+ item level gear. It's very intentional, he obviously knows what he is doing and the people who are affected the most are people who are new to the server who just kinda wanna casually play or try out PVP.

Lately I've been playing both on the big bracket on my main and on the small bracket on more casual characters with friends who are gearing and the changes the GMs have made have made a noticeable difference. It is a shame that these people who obviously do not intend to play the game by the rules the GMs have made up keep popping up, and they will never go away, but do you think there is a way to put more items on the blacklist?

DBW for instance and heroic ICC weapons seem to me to have no place in the lowest BG bracket, and considering how this person is getting into the bracket I assume it's not intentional.

    Thank you for listening.

  2. His queueing half-naked is a red herring, since every item is (should be?) checked when choosing a bracket to put you in.

It is not, since he is getting into the bracket under the Blackrock bracket. I get what you mean, and that that is how it is supposed to work, but it is currently not working. This person is currently playing against people with 3k gs. This video was taken this morning. If he has found a way to circumvent it, it should pretty obviously be seen as an intentional abuse of the system (and to me it seems a little strange to unequip half your gear just to que a BG and instantly equip it again). It's very see through.

You should hide the name of the player when you post such reports to the public. What you are doing is against the forum rules for a good reason
Even when you have valid arguments it's still some sort of witch hunt.

In theory, that does not mean that his equipped gear is being taken into account. It means that there is an issue with the score of his "better" gear, the one he keeps in his bags, being too low.

There's no "ping" system in the Forum. Quoting someone is meaningless as a means to get their attention.

Your feelings don't trump the Forum rules, as Brutone explains what you already know:

  7. There are 3 races which are considered best: Human with EMFH for PvP, Troll with berserking and Orc active + passive for PvE.
It would be enough to make only the racials of human, troll and orc available to other races. Ppl who are min maxing won't pick the other racials anyway. Then we won't see gnomes using Cannibalize, Tauren using shadow meld or other bogus.
I guess a Orc using "every orc for himself" or a gnome popping "gnomish nimbleness" for 20% haste would be a lore friendly change.

When players do a racial switch it should definitely change the actives and passives as well.
Otherwise everybody would choose the race with the best passives and combine it with the best active racials.
I like hes idea or atleast that direction. It's the main reason why one faction is choosed in pvp over other.
I have seen someone from staff posting about how changes like that would customize the server, but to be honest it already customized.
Maybe some other methods or customization is required if the expansion is up for that many years, nobody realy know how things could go.
PvP never was balanced to the point its completly skill based like some shooter game, becouse here is game mechanics that doesn't allow that, i totaly agree with that. But PvP should't be where one faction is dominating over other like that becouse of racial advantages.
We can just argue all here, let's be real, this has been going for years and all ideas been declined.

  8. There should be one function added for Icecrown - join as Alliance, or join as Horde.
Not mercenary mode, because if you horde - you will be always play as Horde and lose all BGs, no matter the bracket.

I don't know who says that winrate is 50%-50% in all brackets, it's a lie.

  9. Personally I love bracket separation. I do not have to do arena for Bis items and can play with people whose do not have bis item too. Big thank to warmane for this feature!

  10. Regarding bg's, it seems that everything is unbalanced as long as you don't create a special group of players. Am I right?

  11. What's the conclusion of this thread?
Are there going to be additional tweaks to change the BG situation in the high gear bracket or will everything be left as it is?

  12. Honestly I think there's nothing we can do about it, get used to being twisted by pk ilvl270 with sm at least :)

I'm coming back after 2 years, I was on Frostmourne, now on Icecrown all my hard-earned stuff has become useless, as an H² I haven't won a single bg since, everyone leaves or gets farmed at the cemetery by end stuff.

  13. Honestly I think there's nothing we can do about it
I think there would be solutions.
Players need incentives to win a BG instead of farming HKs. Making BGs rated would be a solution.
With a BG mmr players could be matched up based on their win rate so premades would mostly face other premades, etc.

  14. Players need incentives to win a BG instead of farming HKs.
Why? Players are having more fun doing PvP across the map than afking in a base in AB. Why is this a problem that needs to be solved?

  15. Maybe because battlegrounds were designed for you to win by playing the objectives? Chasing down enemies like braindead apes hardly qualifies as playing. Give us the option to randomized teams (forced merc mode and no premades) or remove HK display after a certain value or both.
