But we all 3 under the same roof, do agree that communication could have been earlier. And we're not alone.

People who believe the Earth is flat and that the Moon landing was staged aren't alone. "Not being alone" is a meaningless argument if the "companionship" is based on being incorrect.

Overexagerating to try to discredit peoples only shows how you want to focus the audience's attention away from the inital subject and look superior.
We're comparing numbers and dates, not denying the squish's existence. Last year's announcement was a month before. Now a week ? With date changing every year, it feels sneaky.
You wrote that its our fault if we dont read the forums. We got feedback from players ingame / discord / reddit are telling us to stay away from the forums, mostly because of harsh moderation...
Conspiracy comparison is irrelevant here. Even this tread is full of testimonials from both sides : rich players flexing how they bypassed 150k gold sheeting, AND newcomers saying how they lost countless hours of farm.
May you search for evidences as hard as you search for details to criticize, for you to find plenty of other proofs that the direct consequences of the gold squish are not as beneficial as it aim to be.
Moving on, we came with an idea for next year : ingame mail sent to everyone on New Year. Saying a gold squish will happen someday within the next weeks, because the goblins are applying a annual tax to everyone for the boat / zeppelin maintenance.
So, if I donate once then I don't have to worry about losing my characters during inactivity cleanups?
That's true with current conditions. Their names will still be removed if considered inactive. Level condition changed in the past once or twice, so it's better/wise to check if conditions are changed every year. Though just logging in once in January every year tends to be enough as well.
Thanks for the answer. I don't really care about my character's names, so I'll probably just donate once to keep my characters secure incase I don't play the game for a while. Seems like a fair enough trade. I'm already playing the game for free so a onetime donation to keep the team funded ain't that big of a deal to me.
Then there's no way to recover any character that you deleted this way even though it still appears in the realms list?
Any characters lost to the inactivity cleanup need to be remade, yeah. If you're able to donate the minimum amount (which also lets you skip queue when logging in and gives you coins to spend in the coin store), your characters will be exempt from being deleted during the yearly gold squish/cleanup, but their names can still be removed if inactive. As Mitzen mentioned above, conditions have changed in the past but logging in once per year generally keeps your characters safe.
WHAT ABOUT OUR LEVEL 19 TWINKS ??????? its so hard to get a twink fully BiS and obviously it will always be a level 19 twink.... so they just get deleted??? GIVE OUR TWINKS BACK
FYI, for thos who said it's pointless to spend gold before the gold squish. Gold got halfed but the prices in AH didn't. For example, Battered Hilt costs like 1k less than before gold squish, Jainas Locker got pretty much the same price. Titansteel, Ethereals, jewels as well. Most stuff sits at the same price, could probably see an overall 15% decrease at best.
Despite being an active player, all my characters -20 in total- are level 1 in both realm Lorderon and icecrown.
I am an active user and I don't understand why all my toons are lvl1.
Is it a mistake Or is it somthing that was announced and I missed it
