Well hellouuuu
Few weeks ago I started playing WoW again(after quiting it in retail when MoP was released).
I'v been decend H/Spriest player there, but it was cata, and now it changed a lot. And I'm feeling like learning Priest again scratch by scratch, and remembering basics. I spended like 3 nights studing all guides and youtube vids about talents, ratotations and bla bla. Got kinda decend wiev how Spriest now are played... But, its looks like Warmane has they own point of wiev how Spriest shoud be, and actually I cant undestant it. I managed to decendly gear for pvp(502ilvl), and from all rumours and so on I undestand that pvp gear kinda works here and in pve, so tryied going into few pug's, and got surprised actually a lot when I tested my dps on raid dummy. I managed to reach only 65k constant dps. Atm i'm testing dmg outputs with SoI talent, before been playing with FDCL. And it's both work okey for me in random BG's. Atleast I always have top 3-5 dmg and killing blows. But in pve none wants me coz 1st. "your dps priest, you usesless" okyyyy lets say thats right... 2nd. I cant reach 70-80k dps whats minimum req for pug raids...
But I have heard rumours about Spriests who do 200-300k dps on raids(ofc they likelly has full VP pve gear?) and I'm actually hoping that one of them will see this post help me out atleast telling where I do making mistakes. So let me decribe my character:
It's full pvp Tyranical with 2 parts Grieviuos.
I already reforged/gemmed/enchanted all of it aswell and my curent stats are:
Hit 6,08% > Haste 25.10% > Crit 14.00% > Mastery 22.23%
I reached 6% hit cap for pvp ofc, and 25% haste cap for an extra +1 DoT tick, which goes over 30% in BG's with extra buff's what shoud be giving +1 DoT tick, and I choose Crit over mastery(as my knowledge says crit=mastery as 2nd stat)for single target burst option(atleast thats how I been playing it on retail cata and how I imagine it here aswell).
I dont have strick rotation, but it woud look like something like this:
MB > VT+SW:P > DS > MF
When 3 orbs accured: Potion+Trinket > Shadowfiend > DP > MF(Insanity)
And in all this I always using MB prox as prior.
If I play FDCL talent It's kinda same just usually dont use MF at all, because I always try to have atleast 2 target's with DoT and having all the time MB/MS prox, so just kiting/cc'ing and prox damaging. On 3orbs I always try to stack 2xMS prox+MB prox, then potion+trink>MB and use all my prox for burst.
And yes pvp is tricky but okey, I tryied both FDCL for huge survivability/mobility prox playing, and now playing SoI for Insanity burst and both looks okey for me. But what shoud I do to increase my pve dmg? That I woud be able to reach that 80-90k on dummy that woud be invited to raids? Just I need simply get JP/VP gear? Or I dont know something about MoP Spriest or warmane? Maybe here crits isnt working? and mastery is somekind OP? Maybe I shoud focusing on all out Haste for 3rd DoT tick on 41%(right)? I'm looking for any help and any opinions, hope some thoose rumored 200-300k dps Spriest will see this and show me the shado... emmm.. the LIGHT! :3 Thanks in advance :-)

good luck trying to get shadow priest to work in PVE, if there are multiple targets it may work but still u gonna be at the bottom. Shadow is good only for bgs, 3v3s nothing else here
otherwise u arent doing anything wrong, its just the class, sp wanst anything special in pve in blizzard too so yeah, this isnt wotlk anymore

Well you ain't topping DPS meters in single target fights, but you're going to shine at fights like Councils. And don't forget you're capable to pull decent off healing as Shadow Priest. I pulled 172k DPS and 43k HPS last night at our first 10man Durumu kill. Of course you're pulling higher numbers with X class if compared to Shadow Priests but we ain't full DPS class.

Of course we do not push 4-5 buttons and being top dps...When you understand what for holy sake is Shadow priest in raids and what are their specific role for raid, then you won't said something like "good luck trying to get shadow priest to work in PVE".
Let me said it like this. Every situation and every fight, there is a class which will shine and be top of dps chars.

There has to be like... ZERO shadowpriests in PVP right now in MOP , i know this is not lich king but damn , dispersion has been bugged for months and hardly any comments on bugg tracker. Made a shadowpriest pvper hardly see another one to discuss things , see one from time to time in bgs but bad gear. Most dont seem to stick around. I know theyre dmg is still good , yet they are way more squishy than before , specially to melee , but i still think they are very fun.

Which realm you mean? in Frostwolf I see a lot shadow priests in horde and alliance at bgs. Even once I come back, plan to make an pvp bg video with double premade 10 shadow priests, I already have some names in my mind.

Nah recently alot of shadow priest have emerged idk why, before when there was sarg/frostwolf , in sarg atleast there were like 5 geared priests that know what they were doing, on the horde side, on the ally i know a few.
Also sp isnt squisy at all, to a herpaderpa warrior/dk with full cds yeah, everything is squishy duh, but overall their survivalability is one of the best in the game, i rearly have a hard time to survive on my own in a 1v1.

hi! im from frostwolf yes i have seen some , but with good gear and skill not so many , like i said I see a lot of lower level ones. That premade sounds like fun! hope you get everyone you want in! will love to see that video!

Yes they are and that's exactly the reason you should keep playing them because it's not extremely overpowered class or too mainstream but it's good enough to keep you entertained, pull your own weight in PvE and PvP as well and that's what its all about after all, having fun/enjoying doing something you like.

Actually spriests are pretty decent in % of working spells/talents. Yeah, that's not their strongest patch, but its still doable in every aspect of the game. Maybe in arena spriests are kindda bad now, coz they don't have the best stacking buffs, but hopefully in a few days fixes will change that. Still ....u can go high even in 2s bracket if played right (alrdy at 2300+ in 2s with a healer).....u wont get even close to titles, but it will be high enough for decent conq cap.
Topicwise: u should probably stick to Insanity in pve and FDCL (mainly coz wars are everywhere and u wont get much chances to channel freely) for pvp. Haste is broken, so u wont get ur extra ticks(only prolongs dot duration).....kindda bad investment, but u have no other choice anyway.

Haste isnt broken for dots, ive tested it ? Yeah it can be confused with the mastery but come on from 6 ticks on DP i counted 14 once, yeah some are mastery but some arent. I am at 40+% mastery and 25% haste atm.

dont listen this troll, Spriest are nice dps in boss fights although in trash mobs lack decent aoe dmg.
one of my guildmate (my IRL friends) play PVE spriest hes actually 510 ILVL pve and at TOT hes reaching 200k about dps constantly. (floating between 180k and 210) . with proper itemization, patience, dedication and gear you can achieve all you got. This is not vanilla wow. In mop all classes can perform nicely in pve content. Something is wrong with the duration and tick times of dots.....look at the tooltip and the duration of the dots u casted. Last i checked cast time and gcd work fine though (excluding minor visual bugs).

I dont get it why dispersion isnt voted up , and hardly has any comments.. its so annoying , it was actually on the "old " bugtracker since i joined months ago , and I had to make the new bugtracker topic myself , seems no one cares about shadowpriests! its really stupid to disperse and get knidney shot ..meh..

Dispersion does not give immunity to cc, just slows and roots. Why report something that's working as intended?!
