1. bonus damage and dot snapshotting

    Hi there guys,

First question (first toon in wotlk since 2009) : concerning improve tracking : do we have to switch the tracking for every Type of monsters (humanoids, giants, dragons) to get the +5% damage bonus?...... if it's the case, it sounds a bit tedious.

I just wanted to know if there is an addon out there, for 3.3.5, that is just as good as affdots (the one i used in Mop) to track procs, and that indicates when it's worth reapplying serpent sting, or that kind of thing?

    Thank you

  2. Nope, not at all. In WotLK you only need to track one of the mob types listed in the talent to get the damage increase on ALL of them, and the talent works exactly this way on Warmane. I'm permanently tracking humanoids all the time on my Hunter, for instance. So I never have to bother with that. You don't need some kind of fancy macro that's constantly changing what you're tracking to whatever it is you're targeting.

The only buffs that Serpent Sting snapshots that are preserved through being refreshed with Chimera Shot are percentage-based damage increasing modifiers. Stuff like BQL's bite, your 2p t10 proc, Tricks of the Trade, etc. Your AP is recalculated when you refresh it with Chimera Shot, so the only buffs you need to look out for are buffs like the aforementioned ones. Something like Power Auras or TellMeWhen would get the job done very nicely. If you're playing on Deathwing or Ragnaros, you should note that refreshing Serpent Sting doesn't increase the damage you get out of Chimera-Serpent, so the only real benefit you get from doing so is the damage buff to your Serpent Sting - a very measly DoT.
