Did it usually rain in Darkshore on retail?

Darkshore has always been my favorite pre-Cata zone- always liked to hang out there. But it seems like on Icecrown it's raining 80% of the time. I don't remember it being like that on retail- was it? I really don't like it- it takes away the ambience of the place.
