Technical Windowed mode will not work (not previously solved)

Full screen works well. When i switch to windowed mode the screen goes black, and I have my wow cursor.

I've tried several things to get this to work.

-w in the target under properties
removed "read only" from the wow base folder and all sub folders
removed "read only" from WTF file and sub folders
For some reason it reapplys "read only" after I close the window
always ran as administrator

one thing I haven't been able to do is modify my WTF>config file with SET gxwindow "1" Every time i try and edit in word pad it will not let me save it as a WTF file.

Those are all the fixes that I've seen other people use. Unfortunately theyre not working for me.

If you run the game as admin, it creates the config file as admin therefore you need to edit the file as admin to be able to save it.
Now that you've done it as admin either delete the config and run the game as a normal user (so it creates user editable file) or keep running it as admin forever.
You can try updating graphics card drivers, it's most likely the drivers that cause that, game is pretty old, new drivers don't expect 2008 game.
