1. Detailed guide on graphics upgrade

    Hello!

This is a step by step guide on how to properly upgrade your client graphics and also how to make it run smoother and better.
If you are here for the Nvidia GPU configuration tweaks, head to the bottom of the topic.
This guide is NOT for the OLD client.

Now that you made up your mind, let's get to the guide.

    1st step.

We need to install the new graphics. How do we do that? Very simple, in the archive that you downloaded there is a folder patches and inside it a folder Data containing the patches.
You only need to copy those patches and paste them in your WOW client Data folder. Nothing else.

After that your Data folder should look like this:

    2nd step.

Now that we are done with the proper models, textures upgrade, we need to tweak the game a bit.
Inside the archive there is an archive called Large Address Aware.
What does this program do? It lets your WoW client use more than 2GB of RAM.

Unzip that archive, open the folder and the right click on the executable and 'Run as Administrator'.

We need to point the program at our WoW.exe. Click on the 3 dots ... and navigate to your Wow Client and select the WoW.exe.
Now check the box and click on Save.

    3rd step.

This is a matter of preference.
We need to tweak the colors and effects a little bit by using a program called Reshade. It's a very simple process, we are adding new shaders to the game.
Let me show you what Reshade does.

    Example 1:

    After Reshade:

    Example 4:

    Before Reshade:

    After Reshade:
    https://i.imgur.com/cpylLxU.png

Inside the archive there is a folder 'Reshade', run Reshade Setup 4.8.2.
We need to navigate again to the WoW client WOW.exe. Click on 'Click here to select a game..', then on Browse and navigate to WOW.exe

When Reshade asks you which rendering API does World of Warcraft use, tick the first one 'Direct3D 9'.

Now it's asking us what Shaders we want to install. If they are not already ticked, tick the Standard and SweetFX shaders.

After that it's asking us what Sweet FX shaders to install, leave it as it is(all of them) and click on ok and you are done.

2 more steps to go and we are done with Reshade. We need to copy the 'Enhanced.ini' file from Reshade folder, inside WoW client folder.
Start your game. Press the Home button and Reshade window will pop up with a tutorial. SKip it.

On the top of the window, there are 2 navigation arrows. Click on the left or right one till you reach the Enhanced configuration.

    Now Enjoy!

I have a bonus step for the ones that have a Nvidia GPU.
The first part of it is mandatory, while the other one is up to you.

The first thing we need to do is to enable the Full color range.
Open your Nvidia control panel, go to Video -> Adjust video color settings.
At the second option 'How do you make color adjustments ?' tick With the Nvidia, go to Advanced and at Dynamic range select Full.

The second step consist in some tweaking to how your GPU handles games. I find that this configuration, for almost all GPUS tend to be the best balance between quality and performance.

In your Nvidia control panel go to 3D Settings -> Manage 3D settings and at Global settings match your settings with the one I am providing in the screenshots.
At 'Max frame rate' choose your monitor Hz. If you have a 60hz monitor, choose 60fps, 144hz to 144 FPS and so on.

    That's it mon!
Feel free to shoot your questions if you have any and let me know if you enjoy it or not, good day!

  2. Worked like a charm, except I couldn't find any "Enhanced.ini" for reshade so I had to skip that part. Could you maybe tell me where to find it?

Other than that, the guide is excellent. Absolutely no crashes and even in Dalaran everything works, while the other guide that I found on this forum was making me crash instantly.

Thank you, I hope you are enjoying it.
Sorry for my mistake, I've uploaded the Reshade folder again in a separate way, check the post again. I am updating the full pack as well with the working configuration.
    Have fun!

  4. is this just me or all of you got the same error as me ?

  5. is this just me or all of you got the same error as me ?

Thanks for reporting, anything else besides that? I'll look into it.

  6. This is excellent work but i have two questions.

1.Can you make a single package with models such as legion weapons, mounts, pets and more?

2.I have 16 gb ram on my computer so is the wotlk client only using 2gb of ram?

If so, that could explain why I am still experiencing poor performance on my computer with an rx580 graphics card and ryzen 5 2600 processor.

Will fps go up if I follow the procedures in step two?

    Thanks a lot.

    1. No, why would I do that? The impact to performance and effectiveness it's quite major.
I am not sure I understand your question, care to elaborate?

    2. Yes, it's a 32 bit client coded to use 2gb.

    3. Should go up a bit.

What I would like to say if performance does not decrease of course, can you make your graphics package one package along with other graphics packages? because guides written for installing other graphics packages are very complex. (but you explained it very simply and step by step I liked it very much and that's why I asked)

    thanks.

  9. Thanks for reporting, anything else besides that? I'll look into it.
I got the same texture error on Talbuk mounts. So anyone with that mount always error just like that and sometimes I crash so many times just running around on Dalaran.

  10. Its a nice step by step guide, but u need to know, some main graphic files or shaders changing make the game smoother and laggy,or giving the player for some file about error. Its good if u trying making a New shader\graphic,particals,decays,BUT: Its bit complicated, and im not sure worth for waste like one or more hour to doing ál ,step by step. If u change some basic character\modell art with replacing an another... But hey for some positive : U can re-New some skin, just find which ones not mains, also u showed me a New idea about of this thing :)

I am sorry, I can't do that. Keeping certain models in certain packs makes it easier to deal with bugs, edit models in case of an error and easier for the client to access and make use of.

I have two questions for you. Are you sure you are using this pack ? And the second question is: can I have more details about your specs and graphics settings?

  12. I have two questions for you. Are you sure you are using this pack ? And the second question is: can I have more details about your specs and graphics settings?
Yes , I use this pack and I don't have any other pack. I tried with 2 different client, 1 from freshly download from warmane and 1 from another server. Both got same texture error just like that.
For the spec, I use i5-6400 + GTX 1060 with 16GB RAM and my grapich setting is set to all on Good.

  13. Is there a way to keep everything except the mount changes and maybe make the blood a bit less "poofy"? Thanks.

  14. Hello, can it be installed over another language? (Spanish) No errors?

  15. I have the same error with these Talbuk mounts sadly...
