Everything requires investment, the difference is what kind of investment.

If you haven't done much of the quests at Northrend, do those for gold. Or get a profession and start farming materials.
Clearing old content (raid) bosses can be good gold.

Also, it's bit hard to tell what you should/could get, when you don't provide armory link.

Hi Niighty,

Assuming your gear you should apply for a guild it's the best advice i can give to you, this way you will have access to a steady raid group !

If you want to keep playing solo look for PuG which are going to TOGC and VOA

Your optimisation is pretty clean ! A player who know how to judge a mage gear should notice that you are well optimized.

Even if your gear is low, it's clear that you choosed wisely and not based on GS

Assuming you are 4T9 if you are playing well the only thing I will do before applying for icc nm raid is changing your staff for the a one hand weapon (if you have money buy the battered Hilt and do the quest line, if you don't farm HoR nm to get Splintered Icecrown Parapet) and get an offhand (farm HoR to get Shriveled Heart)
You should also farm gold to get higher rank gems on your hand and legs

A plus, whould be if to farm gold to get the Blood Queen's Crimson Choker on AH

I can advice you to farm 40 EoT, to convert them in Emblems of Heroism, with it, you can get the Sundial of the Exiled instead of the Ember trinket you have (btw i'am not sure but icd of the ember is sometime shared with icd of other trinket so check if it' work correctly along the Flare of the Heavens)

And this is it, as i said before a raid leader should be interested to get you in his raid right now at least for Togc and VOA, personnally if I know that player know is job, I take without doubt someone geared like you for icc25 nm

I gived you little ways to improve you gear.
Beside that your fire spec is fine. And it's good you leveled up Tailor, if i can give you an advice don't go for enchanting, you should go for Engineering ! (JC is a good choice too even if it's less powerfull)

PS : I counted your hit you are missing 149points to be capped raid wise !
Try to look for more hit+crit items,
or consider getting Shard of the Crystal Heart (50 EoF at vendor) and trade 2 12sp+10crit gems for 12sp+10hit

Thanks for the reply, but every guild is end game or wants high GS, also I only hav 1.5k gold atm with no idea how to farm any. I can't really afford anything. I also cannot get into anything past VoA, I got lucky to get into VoA 25 and got frost achievement, but I still can't get an invite to ToC 10 nm.

Apparently I already have a Shriveled Heart, and both trinkets can proc at the same time.
Is there anything else I should buy with vote points?

Belt you could change too with points but FoS hc already drops decent one so better not waste points on that. I'll look for most of those, but it's PoS that has a belt, and it only has spell/haste.

If you still have points, or you find a ToC5 farm group, get the Abyssal Rune over that blue trinket, ToC trinket farm groups are pretty common.
Finish your Ashen ring.
Get a few enchantments, some aren't very expensive (they actually increase GS a bit).
If you farm for an hour or so in Icecrown, vendor all the drops, you can get around 700 gold.
I also saw that your Enchanting is at level 1, you can ditch that, and learn mining instead. Spend some time farming with that, and you can get a pretty decent buck, enough to buy one of the fancy Tailoring recipes (Leggings of dubious death or whatever the boots were called), either get the recipe and mats yourself, or just buy it from AH.
With a bit of luck, you can find some ICC alt runs on Tuesdays with really low gs requirements, I've seen some asking for 4.5-5k, and only target to do 3 bosses. It's not much, but you could get lucky and drop something nice.
I see you just managed to start your VoA farming, so keep that up.
You're missing your Glyph of Molten Armor on your Fire spec. I also personally much prefer this fire spec at low gear over lb ttw

All guilds aren't endgame, do not only use /global to find guilds yes the ones who are spamming there are end game, but it's not your target,
Do RDF, sympatize with people, especially if you saw multiple ppl from the same guild in an RDF, and ask them about there guild, you may fine what you are looking for pretty easely.

I am currently playing with a small guild who start icc some month ago with 4-5k gear and they are know going 12/12 nm (10+25men) on a regular basis, I am pretty sure you can find one (I will not advice you this guild because even if they are still recruiting lower gs they are a french speaking guild),

Take a look on your native country forum most of time it's there where small guild made them forum post

I hope you will find your way to icc !

Do not forget, try to build friendship with the players you are going on RDF with an you'll fine a small/starting guild pretty quickly

He will get more chances of finding an ICC10 alt run where he can join than a simple toc10/25. Sad but true.

If you are sitting at 5kgs or like 5.1/2, just get all enchants + gems and pray to god that you find alt runs which only require linking achievement from your main. + Spam voa and pray to rng.

Sounds boring but yeah without a guild that wants to boost you, its like this.
