I thought I'd share an addon that existed privately for some time now on guild discords and among friends:
Warmane Scavenger Hunt v1.2
What it does:
- Shows you all the hunts that are going on, and happened in the past
- Automatically updates steps/clue in database from your party/raid/guild and global chat
- Significantly reduces effort to get your reward - you can log in later in the day, and if your guildies completed it already, you only need to follow their steps
- Prevents the stress and trolls trying to mislead you or ask payment for tips
How do we the clues get into the database?
- If you are online during the time they are shared in global they get added to your database
- If any of your guildies were online during that time, you also get the clues from them
- Verified people from clue finding communities can post them in global chat, and the addon shares it around
How to use it?
/hunt /hunts /event /events to show all scavenger hunts going on (if multiple are active)
/clue /clues /hint /hints to show hints for current scavenge(s).

How does the code work?
The addon keeps a database of scavenges, with their clues and active dates. When someone from guild logs on, it starts a process of syncing the database. If you are missing something, it is automatically downloaded to your database. If someone from guild misses some clue or event, the addon automatically sends it to them covertly (though they get a text saying their database was updated).
When new clues are found and published on global chat, they are automatically downloaded if you see the message on global chat. There are protections in place so that only verified clues can be added, and not just any spam message any troll could post on global.
