1. How to Start Raiding

Hi, So been on Icecrown for a while, I've played WOTLK and done ICC before. I'm a bear tank, 5.4k gs and genuinely I can't upgrade through triumph emblems and want to start raiding ICC or TOGC HC however everyone wants you to already have the gear(5.6! For norm 10m icc) and achievement from the raid in order to do then do the raid.... not sure how to go about finding a guild as most channels are literally spammed like mad.

Any advice? Please and thank you

  2. Knowing ToGC's grand requirements for absurd GS, ICC is the next place you should aim for.

Best solution would be to find a guild that recruits lower GS/newer players.
Reading/knowing/understanding tactics of raid and your own class/spec goes a long way. With and without a guild by your side.
If you don't have an achievement, ask if the recruiter can ask you questions about tactics or spec. Giving you a chance to show that you have potential.

When possible, try to squeeze to alt runs, or short runs that pops every now and then. Also, people seem to be more relaxed with GS requirements the closer the reset is. So early week days might be a good opportunity for you to raid, if your schedule allows it.

Depending on your gear, you could consider obtaining some ICC BoE's e.g. https://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/item=50001 and https://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/item=50447, or higher ilvl crafted items: https://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/item=49899, https://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/item=49895, https://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/item=47582*, https://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/item=47600*, it might be costly, but it's your gateway to raiding frequently in somewhat better conditions.

*Alliance versions share the same name, materials and stats.

  3. as OhieMitzen said.
aiming for some small upgrades from 264 BOEs can get you there but they are quite expensive.

Alt runs are your best bet. Usually they require of you to log your alt to link an achievement. but some don't and just take anyone who is atleast 5.2k

your second best course of action would be to create a 25 man Normal ICC Emblem of Frost (EOF) run. these type of runs usually go up to the first boss of each wing (rotface/festergut, Council and Vali) then RO.
but that doesn't mean those bosses dont drop good item upgrades.

it's a tedious process but it will get you to the gearscore that most Raiding/PVE guilds would find acceptable
