1. Voice Communication for SoloQ Games and Dungeons

    Hey Warmane Community,
I want to suggest a system which helps users to community via voice very easily. I am a web developer and thought about implementing a system in which either the server or a player can easily create a link or a small code, which can be used to enter a voice channel.

    This comes with two ideas:

    - the server prints channel-join-links or urls in the chat when entering a soloq game or dungeon / battleground
    - users are able to create a lobby themselves and share a direct link

The key concept for this to be working is, that users do not need to register or install something to enter a voice channel. A web application is required here and there are a lot of different open source systems which do already offer stable and private communication as known from Teamspeak, but without installation and registration, right in everybody's browser.

One would only have to add a service which is able to generate a channel with a certain join-code. Since this is a trivial problem, it only comes to bandwith and computation.

And before somebody asks "Why don't you use discord?" We could use discord, but it would still require a bot which is able to create channels and dynamically remove them after all users left it. Still not a hard problem, but using discord comes with either installation or registration, which a lot of players dont want to. (Installation, because some hardware devices are not working when using Discord only in the browser)

What are your thoughts about this and what would be features, which you want to the system to implement?

  2. Actually wotlk has voice chat support, it's just that no server implemented it afaik.
