WotLK Bots offer gold?

I'm not sure how often this happens, but recently I got in a mailbox a message that if I follow what they say I will get as much gold as I can carry.
As far as I've seen it's sent to lower level characters. The name is random so I'm guessing its a burner account. Didn't get the chance to report spam because I just took the letter without reading it first. Should I do something when something like this happens or just mind my own business?
