WotLK hi, everyone! first time trying WoW

So its first time that I play WoW.

Decided to try a private server first. Thats what other people recommended.

I need your help here guys, i changed the realmlist to set realmlist to 'logon.warmane.com' thats the only line of text in the realmlist file and I am unable to connect using my warmane username and password.

Can anyone plese explain what else I need to do?

Hello. Is realmlist file located in a Data/enUS folder?
Try to copy it and paste into Data folder.

yes its located in there

What you need is;
Correct 3.3.5a WOTLK client
Set realmlist just as you did
Open WoW.exe and log in using you account name, just as you did
Play

Maybe something is blocking your wow from connecting, like firewall or similar.

What does it say when you try to log in?

the client is 3.3.5a wotkl, nothing is blocking i checked that already,

The message i get is unable to connect, contact blizzard bla bla
