WotLK Help! all my characters are suddendly gone

i logged back into my account after a year,

i had 3 characters on icecrown
and 2 on Lordaeron

its even showing when im selecting a realm to play on

it says (3) characters on icecrown
and (2) characters on Lordaeron

but when i click on it; there a no characters to see.
is it possible to recover those characters?
