This command is heavily abused by big premades in Alterac Valley, mainly to mass report whoever is capping a GY, but also to kick out whoever they don't like, thus making in fact them "admin" of the bg with kick powers, which is ridicolous and unacceptable.
The debuff is often hard to remove if you are in a remote part of AV (thanks for not having capped gys...) and even if you manage to remove it, they will continue to spam it on you until you are gone.
Now I have nothing against ganking and farming kills, but sometimes you need to cap objectives in order to win the BG and farm honor, which is the main purpose of the BG as game intended. Also people may need to cap GYs in order to get certain achievements.
SOLUTION: at least in big bgs like AV, make the required people to report someone higher, let's say 25-30. This will make it harder for the premade to abuse it, since they will need someone else beside them.

People get reported when they try to defend objectives.
That's my beef with this system. I can no longer play defense on our home base at Isle of Conquest, Warsong Gulch, etc.
Though, I have been impressed with the quality of BGs. There is absolutely a lack of bots and AFKs.

Good points. Increasing threshold for AFK reporting seems reasonable for larger BGs. I have also noticed a decrease in bots and AFKers in BGs compared to previous years. It has been a very long time since I've seen any auto-follow bots in BGs or people who AFK repeatedly BG after BGs.

I've literally been kicked from BG's for simply joining the Battleground and being unable to kill or fight anyone for 60 seconds. It's a bad joke honestly.

No, keep it. It kicks so many players out of bgs and gives them a 15min deserter that aren't even afk. It's one of those things that's like "We need to lower bg q times, let's add something that directly contradicts that and gives many players a 15min deserter" All i'm saying is, I didn't vote for Joe Biden and no one voted for this change.

Hard disagree, and I don't even play big premades. The 2 minute system currently in place is so good that people in this thread feel like its 60 seconds. If you can't get in combat in 2 minutes in any bg then you are either AFK or bad at the game. Yes, the AV farmers will report you for faulty reasons, and that is ****, but if you cant get in combat in AV, which even has NPCs, in 2 minutes then thats kind of on you. If you have a problem with massive premades reporting you for faulty reasons just to keep farming HK's then maybe the problem isn't the AFK system but the massive premades abusing it, ruining AV for 3 entire realms while the GM's let it happen because of the PVP health of the mini realms.

Getting in combat with NPCs doesn't drop the debuff.
In AV it is sometimes hard to find someone to kill when you're flagged, especially if you've been flagged by the system (then the debuff is only 1 minute long).

You dont get it... if the premades target you, they will spam the report on you for the whole BG. Even if you manage to get in combat, guess what? You will get it again asap from them. Cause their purpose is to harass you to leave or get kicked. That's the abuse.
Im not talking about the report system which is fine in normal circumstances, I'm talking about it being abusable from big premades in order to eliminate a person from the group who is NOT afk but is simply playing the objective of the game.

I have 300k honorable kills over multiple characters, I think I've been in AV with the farmers once or twice. "You will get it again asap from them. Cause their purpose is to harass you to leave or get kicked. That's the abuse." - You said it yourself, the problem isn't the AFK system, the problem is that there is a group of players abusing said system. Take action against those players and the AFK report is no longer an issue, im glad you've finally come to your senses and agree with me.
Maybe the title of the forum post should have been "Players abusing ingame systems" since you dont have a problem with the AFK report system what so ever and you're upset about a group of players in AV.

Maybe stop reading into it, you're appearing to be in a state of defensive panic, are you still running premades after all these years? The system has no way for the players to report anything besides the fact the system is being abused and this person simply wants it to not be abused. Unless you have some magic method to identify who's reporting players as afk then maybe you should stop acting like the solution is to report the people abusing it.
