I can't log into my account because no confirmation code was sent to my email. I checked all of my emails and nothing. I also contacted [email protected] and nothing as well. A ticket, nothing. I keep track of all my emails, passwords, etc. Some very old emails were removed by google due to inactivity, but those are ancient ones, I'm pretty sure my acc was not registered to any of those.
The 2fa is fine as long as it's implemented properly and not in a half-assed way.
What if you don't remember your email address for instance?
The in-game warning was so vague/useless. Why couldn't the warmane staff just type in: "in 4 days you will lose access to your accounts if you don't make a note of your email/password! So go to your website acc and memorize the email quickly!" in bold upper case so everyone could see it?
No, instead some formal crap no one would bother to look at.
And why only 4 days notice? How about a few months? Some people don't play every single day and log in once in a month or so
My wow client keeps asking for the authenticator code every time i open it, even though you said it will require it only once. I am not using a VPN, i am not changing my location or IP. Any advice?
I lost 2 accounts rn because no idea of my mails and 0 answer from the staff. 4 days already guys, tbh if there's no news about it and I can't have my 2 accounts before the end of the week. I'll probably leave with a lot of ppl, because Warmane is not "safe".
+ on 10 years I never got hacked or something, if ppl care and don't share his account + password, this is extremely rare you've problems imho.
You still use your USERNAME, and NOT your email when you log into the game client. When you enter your USERNAME and PASSWORD, a dialog will pop up asking you to enter your 2FA code (which you will RECEIVE in your email inbox). Put the code in, and you can play on any of Warmane's realms.
You should NEVER see that the client is updating when you try to log in.
I am actually using my email, and not my username; tried both just to be sure. Nothing works.
i got same problem so how can i entry to my account if i cant not acces to my mail account, also y recovery the paswword from another account but after logged in i realize that my characters werent there so it looks like they where deleted :S could someone helpe me with those 2 issues please ?
This is so stupid to be honest... As many have stated, warmane's staff should have provided at least a two week notice as well as information on the ingame login.
I rarely log in to the website and I got surprised when it asked me for a 2fac code...people have lives too, imagine someone going on vacations for one or two weeks and coming back with a pikachu face.
There are people stating that everyone should have made sure that they updated their emails and what not, well, let me tell you that I am 100% positive that the email I have used for creating the account is the one tied with it because I can see the registration email I got when I created the account but no matter the amount of times I try to resend the code, no code arrives.
Warmane staff should make the 2fac auth optional so that people can recover their accounts and change the email and so that it doesn't become an hassle having to contantly put a code whenever somone what to play and trust me, someting as simple as that can deter people from even logging in after a full day at work being tired and just wanting to have a quick play before bed.
Server will lose some % of it's player base and the amount of donations that keep the server running and paying for staff salaries because of an utter nonsense.

they're still providing the service to do so, arent they? if u have already read the the FAQ on the first page u souldve already know what to do.

if u have already read their post on the first page, then u'll know why they decided to implement this.
so u realize this is important, why dont u start to adapt and move on instead of complaining here right now?

they have decided, the provided the helps. the rest is entirely depends on the players themselves whether u choose to start securing your accounts or keep complaining here and doing nothing.
I don't think you understand what I said. Few players are old players. Some even played since molten (more than 8 years players). My points are :
1. what if warmane does gold cut or inactivity clean up and implemented instantly? and someone will say what's the difference? Lol
2. 2FA used to be optional. It's has been like that since molten created. That's almost 15 years ago. Do you think it's wise to implement optional policy became mandotary policy and just give 3 days after notification? How can u said, I just complaining and just accepted it?
3. If gmail made new policy like all users have to use google authenticator or lost their accounts, do you think it is fair and just accept it? It will be viral instantly on all medias. Lol
It's more that what you said doesn't matter, it's a bunch of imagined "what if" scenarios that fail when tried to be used as a smokescreen over the simple fact that keeping access of the email used to register on a service you have any plans to use longer than a one-time thing should be a given. There's no excusing that.
