1. how does 3v3 solo que work?

im at 0 rating and are put up against full bis/sm who have high rating. Am i not suppose to be put against similar rating?

  2. matchmaking is based on mmr (matchmaking rating), not your current rating or gear. Mmr starts out on 1500, because the average character queing for the first time is expected to fit somewhere around 1500, every win will make you gain mmr, every loss will make you lose mmr, same as rating, just a bigger number. The point of this system instead of just taking rating is so that really good players cannot just make new teams and farm newbies, but rather get put up against high rated players without having high rating themselves yet. This principle from normal arenas has been taken over to soloque.

the bigger reason though is that the majority of people who do join soloque are already very geared and most already have many seasons of experience under their belt. people joining for truly the first time are quite rare.
essentially, if you lose a bunch more games, you will drop in mmr and at that point hope that there are enough people queing who also have a lower mmr, so that you can have matches where everyone has a more similar level. If you are curious what your mmr and the mmr of your teammates and ennemies was, you can check your character in the armory here, go to match history and click for details on the match you are curious about. there it shows mmr and rating seperately. Considering that there arent that many people queing at all times, it is unfortunately unrealistic for everyone to be similar rated, so it can happen that a team might have one guy with 1800mmr and another with 1300mmr and an enemy team where all are 1500mmr.

I hope this clarifies it a bit, and good luck in there
