newcomers to the battlegrounds welcome...but a minimum 5.8k PVP gear score?

5.8k gearscore can be farmed within 2 weeks of getting to lvl 80. Do your weekly raid, do your VOAs, win your daily bg, do your weekly WG quests, farm your ICC ring, do your TOC, your FOS/POS/HOR quests and vote daily.
This will without any question lead to atleast two pieces of relentless, bis pvp trinket, atleast one vote item, full wrathful offset, both head and shoulder enchant from WG, bis ring and some random 232 items from TOC (maybe even bis trinket if you are a healer or a pala/dk).
If you can't get 5.8k gearscore you probably shouldn't be in a PVP guild to begin with.
