Hello, I've started playing on servers and encountered that BGs are divided by gear people wear. However, I don't understand how someone with Shadow's Edge can be matched against people with 2500-4000 gs; it's completely impossible. What's worse is that this amateur just charges in and Bladestorms, wiping out my entire team. What's most intriguing is that Alliance seems to have more of these people. They must have figured out the maximum items needed to one-shot everything they see... I'm totally disgusted by this, and honestly, I'd prefer being one-shot by someone with Shadowmourne. Couldn't they just abolish the brackets? I believe it would be fairer then.
I play on Blackrock and as soon as I got my first 264 item I had a chance to end up in the high gear bracket. Once I got 4x 264 items I ended up like 80% of the time in the high gear bracket.
I'm surprised that the guy that you mentioned is able to join the low gear bracket with 5 item of 264 ilvl.
Are you sure that it was the low- and not the mid-tier bracket?
Players with 264 ilvl gear usually end up in the mid- and high-tier bracket.
No. There are players who are blatantly twinking the bracket, all of whom have been reported to GMs who have done absolutely nothing. Two are turboscripting. The player mentioned in the original post is in the lowest gear bracket. Here are some other people also twinking the low gear bracket:
Keep in mind that these are just the people i KNOW can get in the low bracket because I've seen them while playing on my gearing chars. There may be multiple others and i know for a fact that there is an entire guild doing this. These players do NOT end up in the Blackrock bracket and are effectively twinking the low gear bracket. GM's have said that they will manually move players who are found to be twinking gear brackets but these players have been getting reports for over a week and nothing has been done.
Basically (and im not saying do this), the players above are a guide for how to end up in the lowest gear bracket consistently, oneshot everyone in the BG and the GM's won't punish you. Enjoy.
This is a massive issue for anyone who is new to the server or just wants to gear by doing PVP.

The abusers mentioned above have an average itemlevel over 250 and they are being matched with people in full heirlooms or people who just dinged 80, dad gamers who just want to chill. Ive spoken to multiple low geared people on horde (and can prove it) who just stop doing pvp all together or start suspecting it's some sort of GM abuse (note that im not alledging that at all, but if you're new to the server or private servers in general then i get why some people would think that).
Thank you for sharing this tactic and his profile, I will copy this tactic and now get ready to get double stomped and have 30 loses in a row.
Btw, smart warrior, I will try this for sure since it looks fun.
That would, according to the GM's be against the rules and they explicitly say that they will manually move you to a higher bracket. If your argument is that Warmane should let us know what the max gear for every bracket is and let anyone twink then thats fair, but they don't, and as such they will hopefully deal with these min maxers (who i should add are also scripting, atleast two of them).
Seems an appropriate answer. What did you expect, "oh, sorry, I will stop twinking now"?
I mean for someone blatantly abusing the bracket system you would think he would be less blatant about doing it on purpose, but apparently not. Ive been advocating for a transparent system about which items are OK in which brackets and i certainly hope that happens now :)
