The only BAD thing about PVP on the server, I had to do this.
Imagine leveling your player, and you really want to play PVP, but when you reach level 80, more than half of the people you are playing against is more than 1k GS above you for free, without any effort behind, a warrior charges at you and you automatically know that you are dead and you cant do nothing about it, and if it was because that player spent a lot of time practicing and farming his stuff I wouldn't get mad, but then you see that next to his name it says ''Blackrock'' is like, man, i dont wanna play anymore, and there are a lot of people like me, that enjoy buying new gear , getting better, that's all part of the World of Warcraft experience, and when you see it you just get so disappointed I really think that Blackrock and Icecrown realms shouldn't be mixed. The gear difference and all the effort you have to make, while these players just click one button is just unfair. And Im sure a lot of people thinks the same.
starter pvp gear from blackrock is far superior to a fresh 80 for sure but thats not the only you have to consider.
Most pvp wrathfull gear on blackrock requieres higher rating to be obtained than on icecrown for example, in icecrown pants are 1500 rating in BR are 1630.
Icecrown players have access to Vault of Archavon where they can get 2 pieces for free or even some offset for free while BR has nothing.
Icecrown players have WG for free honor boosts
Icecrown players can get BIS pve gear with no rate gating all good pve gear is gated by high rating on Icecrown
You need to be at least very good to get a char to BIS on BR since you will be gated to s7 gear with no option of geting a weapon till you reach +1800 and in the way you will find toons of SM and LK 25 hc weps farmed with no effort by pve players on icecrown if u compare
I understand you, but is a need cause both realms benefit each other in bg q and arena q, check the 2-3 last bg u make and spot how many players from blackrock, if they are arround half imagine, how much queue timers will increase if they dont, also due to the blackrock being instant nature playerbase is low and will die out probably if they cant do matchmaking with other realms
This is something that involves more than what you prefer, though. Without it, the queues would be in the hours, because everyone just wants to play Alliance for PvP, and Hordes don't often care to go lose to pre-mades. It isn't a perfect solution by far, but it's what makes the wheel keep turning.
