I wonder how much of what they did for Solo Queue 3's can be used for Solo Queue Random Battlegrounds that gives rating and rewards. The block list might not be feasible for 15 or 40 player matches, and it is probably not fair to insert a player into an on going battleground (as a replacement for someone who left), so a more severe punishment for leaving battlegrounds needs to be implemented.
I'm not a big fan of BG premades either but rated BG shouldn't have a solo queue restriction. If ppl want to play together with their friends they should be able to, especially in a competitive environment. Otherwise PvP guilds would lose their purpose.
I think that rated BGs and "normal" BGs shouldn't coexist because dividing the BG playerbase in two isolated brackets increases queue time and reduces activity of each bracket.
Also, rated BG shouldn't reward any arena points because it would reduce the arena activity.
My approach would be to make all BGs on level 80 rated, no matter if you queue solo or as a party of up to 5 players. Everybody has a BG mmr so pvpers face players of similar win rate on the battlefield. If a premade queues up it takes the mmr of the person with the highest mmr.
Add a new column to the character info next to the arena rating which shows the BG rating of the player.
Players who reached a certain BG rating have a chance to get a random cosmetic rewards upon winning a BG. The cosmetic reward could be companions, mounts, tmog models (maybe a recolored tmog which doesn't exist in game), etc.
Yes, I think they should co-exist, but I disagree that Rated BG should let people queue into it as teams. The reasoning is the same as Solo Queue 3's will not let you queue into it as a pair. Premades will always have an advantage over solo players because they can have better communications and rehearsed responses to enemy actions. If they want to let people queue into Rated BGs as teams, then they should give a separate option for Solo Queue only. But of course this will further divide the BG groups and may drastically increase queue time. From an implementation standpoint, it's easier to take Warmane's Solo Queue 3's system and transform that into Solo RBG and keep the regular BGs for those who want to play premades, farm HKs, complete achievements... etc. Alternatively, you can also setup a guild style BG bracket, where being in a guild puts you on a "team", and then treat this bracket similar to the 5's bracket, with the guild receiving the team rating while players receive individual ratings. But the obvious downside is without a lot of incentives, it will probably be dead like the 5's bracket.

Yes, when premades queue against randoms it wouldn't be a balanced fight but that's okay. It's not my goal to make BGs a perfectly balanced environment like arena.
I wanna create a incentive for fully decked out players to win BGs instead of farming HKs and I think my suggestion would do exactly that.
In addition the BG mmr would make matches more balanced than right now because premades would have a high mmr and consequently they would have a high chance to face other premades on the battlefield.
But premades will not always play as premades or be composed of the same players, so that will make MMR wildly inaccurate for match making. Enforcing solo queue is the easiest way to solve this problem. And as an interim solution, they can easily water it down and replace MMR match making with forced mercenary mode and randomized rosters to achieve some sense of balance. This also has the benefit of negating time zone related imbalances where you find Horde being weaker around certain times of the day or days of the week. I foresee more activities in battlegrounds with this implementation as people will generally experience around 40-60% win rate making them more willing to participate. Just to be clear, I do not advocate for the removal of the current system, so premades, farm groups, guild vs guild fights, skirmishes, or achievement runs can all still happen as it does under the current system.

I don't think that it would be a issue. Players who mostly do premades would have a high mmr so they would also have a high chance to end up with or against premades when they queue alone. I think that's fair.
And players who always play solo won't have a high mmr so they'd mostly face other solo players.
It actually works the same way in shooter games. They also mix up groups and solo players on the battlefield and the matchup is based on the player mmr.
Yes, I can agree to that as a starting point. I still think Mercenary Mode should be enforced so the server can balance the teams better. Otherwise many will try to cheese the system by queuing their teams up at the same time with mercenary mode disabled to overcome the 5 player party size limit.
Yes, in case they implement rated BG I'd also be for forced mercenary mode. Would make it easier to match up players with similar mmr. Also if two alliance premades queue up they could be placed against each other.
I have played here for almost 15 years, most of the time spent PvPing and I have never seen Soloq/3vs3 so inactive. And battlegrounds are always one sided, you have to light a candle and pray before entering, hoping to not be on the receiving end of a premade.
Something more than the usual seasonal rewards needs to be done perhaps, in order to bring back the players that we lost due to wotlk classic.
Maybe a tournament, like the old days? I don't know, but almost everyone I used to play with has gone to play classic/retail or some other game because things have gotten too repetitive and it doesn't have to be that way.

I absolutely agree, incentivization is important but as it stands nothing will fix the extreme situation Horde (and in effect blackrock starters) are in except for a forced merc system or the removal of the merc system entirely. Even if there were seasonal rewards for bgs won, bgs played etc. the large mass would not move from ally where they get to enjoy double trinket, a bigger community and get the seasonal rewards faster than horde (depending on what they are).
The problem has gotten so bad that there kind of needs to be an overhaul, just like the problem got so bad on Lordaeron that we eventually got this band aid to fix what was a pretty serious issue that realm had.
As for 3v3 ill preface this by saying that Warmane punishes all cheaters and you cant cheat in any way shape or form in arenas without getting punished. With that said i think you will find some interesting patterns if you look at the leaderboards for every season. The same people keep reoccurring, and they tend to sell the characters afterwards. Obviously there are a lot of amazing players on this server who have played for a very long time, but last season for instance two of the top positions were the exact same three people, none of whom stream and who are notorious both on this server and on others for having very long winstreaks and playing frame perfect games. You make of that what you will :)
Change or nerf human racial and all your pvp issues will be solved. You will have a chain reaction with healers and population balance H/A.
You know that already.
