1. Inactivity Cleanup and Gold Squish for a healthier economy

    Greetings Warmane community,

With a new year now upon us, we're taking the opportunity to do an inactivity cleanup that will refresh our realms and free up forgotten names, the cleanup will target a wider range of character levels this year, we will also conclude a 50% gold squish at the same time to promote a healthier economy.

The inactivity cleanup and gold squish will be conducted and completed on March 03, 2025 23:00. Downtime is expected to be multiple hours.

    • Level 1 and above characters that have not been played since January 2024 will have their names removed.
      • Characters will have the opportunity to choose a new name upon the next login.

    • Level 1 - 50 characters that have not been played since July 2024 will be removed.
      • Premium accounts are exempt from removals.
      • Characters that are guild masters will result in the guild being removed.

Characters that have their name removed will have the opportunity to select a new name upon the next login.

The gold squish means that every piece of gold that exists in circulation, be it in the character's inventory, mailbox, guild bank, website trading system or otherwise, will be simply halved. Exactly as it was done last year too.

Onyxia will be excluded from this year's squish and cleanup.

    Kind regards
    Warmane

  2. Gold Squish has finally arrived :-)

  3. Does epic flying stay 5k gold ?

Does flying mount cost stay the same or reduce 50%??

  4. yeah it will still be 5k, gold in ur bag, in mailbox, in guild bank etc.... will be halved so if u have spare gold its time to spend it

  5. And now watch all AH prices spontaneously shoot up. XD

  6. Is there a threshold for gold squish? As in characters with less than X amount don't get affected?

Cause I understand it helps keep the economy going but for people who're saving up for a specific purchase (like flying and whatnot) and get pushed back halfway would be really frustrating.

This is not my case as I've just started and going from 50 gold to 25 isnt gonna make any difference XD, just curious as to how it's done since I've never been in a server that does this.

  7. the gold squish is gonna be brutal for me i barely started 2-3 weeks ago and now i will lose arond 1700g...

  8. There is no threshold, it's just everything sadly. Once you get 80, doing quests gives a lot of gold. Most things do, the struggle is just until 80.

There are no threshold, people would just abuse it by spreading their gold around on tons of characters.

  10. Since the server suffers from an overabundance of gold and you plan to do this ‘squish’ every year, perhaps instead of provoking massive purchases of auction house items to prevent gold loss, you could implement a script that would do a daily squish of 0.15% instead of a one-off squish of 50%? Such a daily squish would be almost imperceptible. It would give a sum equivalent to 53.4% per year, would prevent squish avoidance by buying on AH and would not hurt those who collect the first 5k on the flying skill.

  11. Terrible idea. Losing gold once a year or everyday? Of course first. If can't manage your gold (buy items, learn skills, pick up a profession, level an alt, etc..) that's only your problem. It's always announced, make sure you spent your saving for something useful, that's all.

  12. the gold squish, my good ol' friend...we meet again...

alright...time to make some serious profit.

  13. Daily squish is not a good idea. It would work on the principle of compound interest. In such cases, it would be practically impossible to save gold for expensive items.
