1. An alternative to KuiNameplates

KuiNamePlate is a good addon, but it doesn't show the procs on the enemy plate, it only shows the debuffs we applied.

Is there any other addon that shows them both and that is already preset, there is no need to be configured, ready to use?

  2. I use PlateBuffs, and it works well, but you will have to configure it, since you won't like the defaults. I know you asked for an addon that you don't have to configure, but that's impossible, since everybody has a different opinion of what buffs and debuffs should the nameplates show.

Since KuiNamePlates doesn't display buffs and procs, the addon you suggested can then be used to overcome this lack of KuiNameplates, right?

At first I thought about using TidyPlate, but I felt that it's more resource-intensive than Kui + Platebuffs.
The latter solution could be the most appropriate. Or am I wrong?

  4. PlateBuffs shows all buffs and debuffs you tell it too, either applied by you or everybody. I don't know what you mean by procs. If you mean stuff like "Overpower can be used", no. It can only show what is displayed in the enemy player's buff and debuff bar.

Do you have framerate or memory problems? I mean, even if the addon that you like is more resource-intensive, performance of addons is usually not an issue with computers today. It's better to use what you like.

I tried TidyPlates back in the day, didn't like it. Currently I use VirtualPlates, which allows me to resize nameplates, and PlateBuffs.

By "procs" I mean for example Hot Streak for mages and others like that, I thought Platebuffs showed since they are instant buffs that last a few seconds........I was wrong.

VirtualPlates, on the other hand, seems to be quite interesting since it improves the way nameplates appear.

  6. Yes, you can configure PlateBuffs to show Hot Streak.

Overpower on the other hand does not show a buff which is why it's an example of an ability that cannot be tracked with PlateBuffs.

Thanks for suggesting VirtualPlates, I'm using it and I have to admit that the way the enemy plates appear is much better.

On the contrary, the standard way of displaying the enemy plates made by Blizzard is really badly done, they overlap too much on the heads. Even using the setting present in the menu, the problem remains.

I noticed two versions of this addon for patch 3.3.5.
    Are there any differences?

LOL, that second version is a modification made by myself that someone uploaded to github without asking (not that I mind, though)

It's the same as the first version but the nameplates for friendly players are smaller than the nameplates for enemies. I did that so I could show both friendly and enemy nameplates at the same time, with the purpose of giving more importance to enemies but still being able to see friends so I could off heal or dispel them if necessary.

So yours should be an improved version that could be good for everyone, healers, dps and tanks right?

Is having nameplates of a different size for friendly and enemy units something that you want or need? Then use my version. Don't care about/for that? Then don't use my version.

I made it for off-healing purposes in battlegrounds, for example, when playing a ret. I have no idea how well it applies to a tank in a pve setting.

To me, the difference in size between friendly and enemy platess is very useful, it allows you to visualize them better while stressing the eyes less.
For this reason, in my opinion, your version is better for pvp and also for pve.
You did a more than excellent job.
