Not sure if that's a solid confirmation. Maybe they will clarify that in the announcement for the next phase release. Otherwise you would probably have people still doing attunements for no reason not realizing they aren't required anymore lol.

Malaco said they will be removed in ZA phase but in original TBC SSC/TK attunes were removed only 3 weeks after BT release, 5 months before ZA so if warmane really wants to stay true to original TBC then this decision does not make much sense.

The staff aren't on the same page. Malaco links Classic timeline and says ZA. Nobuemon links original timeline and says Sunwell. Either way both Classic and original timeline have SSC/TK attunements removed in BT/Hyjal phase. Aldtharios says attunements won't be dropped, but then another game master in game states they will be dropped.

Players are already asking the question and the conversations are happening. I guess we wait for a couple weeks when an army of players attacks the forums with complaints like they did with the loot timeline. T5 attunements are just a huge obstacle that prevent players from moving into the current phase. Every version of TBC has removed them for that reason at this time. On top of that T5 raids are easy here and players can start catching up way faster. We need more people.

I don't see how warmane can honestly give two craps about staying true to the TBC timelines when you can buy gear and gold.

I accept the fact people buy gear and gold but having the content gatekept by an attunement for EVERY single character they have on a 3x xp server is a bit of a middle finger to the players.

You can use that sort of argument after you campaign that you want players to have to pay a monthly fee.
