when i select what realm i want to go to, it tells me i have 3 characters to play but when i click that realm there are no characters to play. i just reinstalled the client after taking an 8 month break, maybe that has something to do with it?

Inactivity Cleanup and Gold Squish for a healthier economy
If they weren't deleted by the system during inactivity cleanup, they were deleted by a human.

Just in case if you happened to play on Frostmourne: Follow the previous link and select Frostmourne to begin transfers to Icecrown. Only available for Season III characters.

hello, i would like to know if it is possible to recover my character that were on Frostmourne, about 1 year ago ? I had a war dranei lvl 80 and others but i loose them... when i go on https://www.warmane.com/account/services, my character are all deleted and see nothing... Do you know if it is possible to recover them...?

If you don't have the option to transfer Frostmourne characters via services, they can't be transferred. You had an year to transfer them after the season you played on ended. After the transfer period of 1 year, they can't be transferred anymore. They are gone for good.
