Hi, basically i've got a question and i hope someone can shed some light on it.
I'm fairly new here, started playing 5 days ago and i noticed the pop cap of 10k with a queue of around 1500 on Sunday. Granted Sunday is the peak day of the week and i don't know how big the queue was on other days, but i think that for the majority of the afternoon/evening time in EU, the realm was full. Now i asked some people and did some reading and found out that the pop cap used to be less before, it's been incrementally increased. Not sure how big it was in the beginning, but now it's 11k. Today it was changed from 10k to 11k and today there was a 600 queue in addition to that 11k. Basically as far as i found out, when the cap was 6 k or so, the queue was also around 500-1k, which means that in a matter of a few months the pop has risen by 3-4 k ppl.
Now my concern is this -> With the increasing pop, the staff kinda has to push the cap higher and higher, because let's be honest... waiting 2 hours in the queue for 1500 ppl is not something, anyone wants to do. Hence at some point the pop might get so big that it will start affecting performance, causing serverside delay. I'm not talking about latency in milliseconds here, just to be clear.
Now one option is that they won't increase the cap so much that it would cause "lag", which means that we'll still have to sit in the massive queue.
The other option is that they will increase it, even though it lags and then we'll have to play in lag.
Neither are great.
I'm sure the realm is great and from what i've seen it is, but i'm just not sure i wanna invest my time here, when in a few months time i'll be playing in lag.
Just wondering what others think of this :)
