Well, soloQ was definitely a "good" feature and many people liked to do it, I agree, but how would it exactly "improve" the realm? I believe fixing the mmr bug(so you don't face full geared former AT glads as a starter), closing the gear gap (through more often cap resets), cross-faction bgs ( so you don't have to wait 30 min to enter a bg) will quite possibly improve the realm and encourage people to do 3v3 arena. AT used to be active arena wise and competitive only because it didn't had players like you crying over features that bring challenges and make people push themself for rewards (aka gear and mount transmogs). And rating requirement was there so people like you couldn't be happy that they are full gear on AT.
