Actually my favourite one from those that are still alive. Badass af as well. Also, Lorthemar can be trusted even less - he even considered switching factions. So at this point there is no better.
Lore is so f***ing butchered right now, and has been since the paralel universe ****.

Here's what happened:
- Varian, best hero of 2 planets and 2 universes, legendary feats, dragon slayer, fueled by a GOD, literally a living demi-god of our times, backstabbed by a legion grunt....
But he isn't immortal, as arent demigods.
Quote:
- Vol'Jin, become Warchief, die in a chair from a wound by a legion grunt...
As isn't he.
Quote:
- Sylvannas, the necromantic zombie leader that literally everyone except the undead and a few faithful blood elf rangers hate, becomes Warchief.
Let's analyze this a little, and see why this is fanservice, instead of a rational decision (btw, why does no-one point out that Vol'Jin was dying and during his weed session he was like **** bro, spirits tell me zombie chick should be new lead, far outttttt)
If she would be hated by all, she would've never been taken in the Horde in the first place. On top of that, he always trusted them, why would he not trust them now?
Quote:
Why Sylvannas shouldn't be the new Warchief:
- As pointed previous 3 times: Everyone hates her, except a few. Orcs never liked the Undead (see Kor'Kron's in Undercity for their reactions, Garrosh who represents the warrior majority, and in general, no orc has ever trusted the undead). Tauren only work with the Undead because, again, the spirits tell them there is more to them, even though they never personally see that and are always aware of when an Undead is nearby (also, the few undead in thunder bluff are holed up in a cave). Blood Elves despise the Undead, they see them as abominations, unrestful spirits of their ancestors, allies and families walking in a rotting husk. Lor'Themar has warned Sylvannas many times that if she continues to make those "abominations" out of fallen blood elves he will personally murder her (even though he was her inferior during her living days, her being the General and him Lieutenant, he now vastly surpasses Sylvannas in skill, strategy and cunning, not even adding that fact that he is living). I don't know the trolls standpoint, probably same as Tauren.
There is no proof orcs would not like undead afaik. Taurens might not like them, but no signs of them disliking undead. And spirits have never lied to them. Blood elves were braught in the Horde by the undead, otherwise they would probably never have joined and also no proof of hating undead. Lorthemar might be better in melee combat, but Sylvanas at ranged as well as some of the magic - remember, she is just as blood elf as before only now empowered and with knowledge of poisons and how to create stronger warriors. We cant say that because Lorthemar doesnt have the best thoughts that the rest of the society dont. The fact that he is "living" gives nothing to him, and there is no proof of how cunning and/or strategic he is, same about sylvanas. Trolls work by what spirits say, and if they say Sylvanas must be their leader, they will follow.
Quote:
- Phew. Also, Sylvannas has failed on numerous occasions to kill Arthas due to grudges. She lost Undercity to a few rascals and has failed to defend Silvermoon from Arthas. So she is a failure on the battlefield as well.
In both occasions these were scourge that beat her. It took the whole might of Azeroth to defeat them, how do you expect one race to beat them?
- Who should be warchief then? Well, Baine is still a child compared to others, trolls have no noteable leader, same with goblins and orcs since Thrall won't lead again. There is Eitrigg, who is a veteran of the first and second wars, and an advisor to two warchiefs, who would have the most experience and probably the people's trust. And there is also Lor'Themar.
Eitrigg has never been in leadership. He is a veteran, but that in no way does translate in being a good leader. Lor'themar almost switched factions and has said it out loud. If there is any who shouldnt be trusted, its him.
Quote:
The Horde has been brutish/savage for too long, they need a King, not a Warchief, they are no longer invaders, plunderers. They should follow Thrall's way of diplomacy, and who better fit for it than the elves, who have been allies of the Alliance and the elven council is vastly more knowledgeable than any shamanistic ring. They also control the Sunwell, have a Na'aru's blessing which may tie them closer to draeneis and are of the same species as the Night Elves.
Thrall remained a WARCHIEF. So it's probably not because of war at this point, but because of a tradition.

The only way I will ever accept future lore is if:
a) Blood Elves lead
b) Blood Elves join the Alliance
a) Blood elves are least trustable
b) Highly unlikely because of Jaina

But right now, Sylvannas as Warchief makes NO sense, except for being fanservice.
She is the only one who does.
