No need to remove it at all, simply just /leave global.
Requesting something like removing the channel entirely just doesn't make any sense to me.
As many others are saying in this thread, chat channels are blizz-like. You can create and leave them as you please.
The only reason you think looking for a group in Trade chat will be better is because that's how it was generally done on retail.
This is limiting though because you have to be in a city to use it.
For awhile on my retail server and possibly every retail server, I believe there was a chat channel called LookingForGroup that most people used. This is functionally the exact same thing as the global channel here on Lordaeron.
