My guild has 30 people active when we deside ti come back to play here. You don't play in this realm so you don't have the right to speak in this post.
True. People who don't play in this world have no right to give an opinion on the subject. Instead of stopping a working and beloved realm, it's better to stop one of the stupid pvp servers. Their population is the smallest.
Finally good business decision has been made. Im sorry for those who suffer, but looks like it had to be done.
Ye..focus on whats worth to be focused on.
It boggles my mind how stupid some people can be. Do I feel for you losing what could be argued to be your home, your safety? Yes. Was this something obvious to take into account since this is a private piracy server and the whole shabang could get nuked a random day, let alone just a realm? Definitely.
I don't understand why people are crying so hard, if you wanna cry, cry to Blizzard Entertainment for not having money to pay subs/expans, or cry to them that they aren't doing a good job with their game. Be thankful Warmane has granted us the opportunity to play WoW for FREE, and relive or play (for the most of us) our favorite expansions of the game, to the best extent they could offer, with ZERO chains behind it.
Sure, they've got some premium exclusive features, and some premium baiting, but I mean, look at it from a business perspective, they are people with needs too, and this **** doesn't come free for them, so it's completely justified given how at least decent a system they've made. And your time spent is your own responsibility, it's a free hobby you've abused for potentially years, countless hours of self serving, think of it as just a retirement, nothing lasts forever in life, be realistic.
As for their "late" news update, sure maybe, but I don't see what 2 weeks or 1 month's extra playtime would've given a soon to be dead realm, if anything you would've just wasted more time and made your wound deeper. Be thankful they care enough to compensate, it's A PIRATE SITE, they have ZERO obligation to satisfy their customers in reality, what did you expect? Sure, they could potentially offer money refunds instead of just currency refunds for the MoP people quitting, but that's a bit unrealistic tracking say 500 people's transactions over the span of what 10 years? Get real.
I'd say grow up, be thankful they are as great as they are, and move on. And if you wanna fight me on my takes go ahead, just use your brains ahead of time please :D
This is very bad decision. The server will loose a lot of people because of this.
I actually made a character her yesterday to see the message spammed that the server is to be closed, which made me come to the forums to read up. Sad to see it close, just as I made the decision to make a new character here :(
In all reality, does anyone besides Warmane ACTUALLY know how many people play on average per day? Not any of this "well it seems like hundreds of people play". I don't care about perceptions, I care about facts. How many people ACTUALLY logged on, and did content?
While we can (and possibly rightfully so) criticize Warmane for the timing of this, they wouldn;t shut this down if there wasn't a good BUSINESS-RELATED reasoning. After all, Warmane IS a business, of sorts. They provide a service/good (free servers) to a customer-base (us). If they thing the resource/economic drain from having a server online isn't worth the gain from it, why shouldn;t they try to save money?
Like it or not, they NEED money to survive; servers aren't cheap, unlike most of us (myself included) who don't pay. While it certainly sucks, as there aren't too many good MOP servers out there, let's not fool ourselves into thinking MOP was "the greatest". Especially this one; full of purported bugs. Retail started dying off with Cata; MOP slowed it, but there was still a decline.
While I've always wanted to play it, there are issues at work actually reverse-engineering it, causing said bugs. Not to mention, again, the cost of running it.
While it is sad to see a service be removed, and I sympathize with those who may feel they are losing their "home", we unfortunately have to move forward. If this means you leave Warmane to find another MOP server, well, good luck. I understand that you want a service, and will move elsewhere as it's no longer being offered, but I'd hope you still support this Private Server group, and find a new home here, whether it be Onyxia or elsewhere.
Long live Frostwolf!
Long live Warmane!
