First of all i don't want this thread to be another "please give RDF or else". I just wanna point a mistake that staff may have forgot and that is achievements. There are a dozen of them that need rdf tool to get.
Also i do not think RDF should be enabled before icc or even ruby sanctum if u wish to keep it this way. At least think of adding it at least for us achi hunters
they could always just auto complete those achi's. i wouldn't hold you're breathe hoping for rdf.
RDF is not that important. I love that everyone have to run to the dungeon, if they want to complete the dungeon quests or if they want to get achievements.
Hopefully it won't be enabled anytime soon, but I guess it will be enabled, when Northrend hits.
They have said they have no plans on enable it at all on this server.
And i hope they don't. and oh god i miss out some achivements because of that. To be honest thats not a big deal :)
I do think that after guilds get all their "first kill" etc achievements in Ruby Sanctum that RDF should be released, but customize it a bit more with a more restrictive "item level" requirement.
It would take some work, but make it to where it only counts the items "equipped", and those items have to have main stats for your class, and preferably the "best armor level" (cloth, leather, mail, plate) for your class. Meaning only Mail gear will benefit Hunter RDF requirements. So, at the minimum to run normals you would have to have most of the exalted rep gear for level 80 + a few lvl 79/80 profession and quest pieces. So, the player has to (for most cases) spend time earning the gear needed to even queue for RDF.
Though! They can obviously still run the dungeons, but they would have to find a group that doesn't mind not using the RDF tool.
Needs some brainstorming but in my mind it sounds like a solid idea to go along with the hardcore ideal of this server while cutting some slack to absurd "gearscore" requirements needed to run dungeons as the RDF tool will mostly do that itself.
A properly working RDF system has an item level requirement system built in.

I've seen so many "LFM DM/WC/BFD/SFK/STOCKS/RFK" In world chat in the last 3 days... it's almost impossible not to get into a group.
It is such a nostalgia trip to see this again and it's for the better. DO NOT ENABLE THE RDF

Yeah, because they have quests. Not many people are going to do them more than once because finding a group sucks. If rdf isn't enabled @ 80 as soon as people gear up, nobody's going to be doing them (inb4 I will, you know what I mean when I say nobody).Quote:

Even on retail when I played they all work as I stated in my second sentence. It might be "properly" working, but for the concept of Lordaeron it is worth thinking about making it more restrictive to the type of gear the player is wearing before they get the option to queue.

Possible to make RDF invite people looking for a specific dungeon and it forms group then we have to run there instead of insta teleport. as is now i whisper like 50 people a day trying to get sm cath going doing /who 34-40 and maybe get 3 whispers back. either these guys are botting or they dont understand english or dont want to go so just ignore?. but if we group for same instance an they get in a group then theyll at least run the instance.
That's because MOST of the realm is that level. GOOD LUCK trying to get a group like that after the initial zerg is over with and people are only caring about endgame content. Spamming for 2 hours just to find a dungeon group is going to suck massively.Quote:
