But when I see and hear them blatantly ignoring the facts not because their own facts that tells them otherwise, but simply because they feel like it; not even bringing arguments to counter my own research.

although I'm amazed that such people can be your professors.

Not my professors, although some are quite ignorant but not to this extend. Most of the people that were present were some university colleagues and museologists.
