I have outbreak on my macro for when I burst, that way I dont have to waste runes in my burst, allowing me more damage output during this time.
One question is Off-Topic but the haste gives the dks regen runic power right? but works? and more the 2T12 DPS bonus works?
whe i use burst macro i noticed burst only activate blood tap and pilar of frost not outbreak and horn of winter why?
Mines works fine.
Apart from Horn of Winter, since it's on GCD. So just spam it two times and it'll be good, saves you having to think about rebuffing.
Hey Toshika,
I also wrote a guide for frost PvP about 2 years ago and kept it up til the very end of the official cata time, and I see a couple of things very different.
First thing:
Dafuq? No more oblitorate. Take that **** off you bars.
I approve that in many cases NS + HB is a lot better than OB, but there are also situation where you absolutely need it. Just a couple of examples:
You fight against a team with a discipline priest, and your target gets shielded. Do you really want to destroy the shield with NS and HB? It is a lot faster with OB.
Generally enemies with cloth or sometimes lether armor, too. OB does an enormous damage against them.
You need hard Burst because your CCs don't last much longer anymore? NS + HB does more damage in the end in most cases, right, but OB only needs 1 GCD -> Harder burst damage -> Perfect in some situations.
The next thing is the build. Why do you skill Improved Frost Presence? Of course 4% more runepower is not bad, but those skillpoint would rather fit in annihilation. Like I said: OB is still very usefull.
I would also use OB as a prime glyph. 20% more OB dmg means 20% more dmg in some burst phases etc. I would exchange it for death coil because this glyph only helps you in a short time of a fight. The others (including OB) are usefull the whole fight.
Most critical point:
Expertise... Why by the might of Son Goku should I use expertise in PvP? It is the most useless stat you could use. Just attack your enemy from behind. Players neither can dodge or parry attacks from behind, nor can they do so while casting or being CCed.
Really... Don't waste a single point on expertise.
Plague Strike isn't worthwhile as frost. You can use your unholy or death runes way more useful like in NS or OB. The dmg+ for the second plague is not better than an additional strike with one of these spells.
Changing your presence is a very serious way for reducing your incoming damage without the specific glyph. I would rather try anything else before I change into blood presence because otherwise I would lose all my runepower, and that's a hard deal. We have many other ways to reduce the incoming damage: HC, IF, or just icechains.
A better macro for your summonor is this, I think:
This macro uses raise dead on the first click, and resets after 60 seconds (when your summonor disappears) or when you press it again for using death pact./castsequence reset=60 Raise Dead, Death Pact
All the focus macros could be used a little more compressed by using mod macros. That's for saving keybinds. For example:
/cast [nomod] Death Grip
/cast [mod:shift, target=focus] Death Grip
So..... That's it ^^ I am very interested in your mind to this.
This is a guide for those who do not wish to use oblit, but ATM I am currently running with Oblit since it's overscaling against players, and thus I'mma just enjoy facerolling atm.
Expertise... All is fine and dandy saying your trying to get behind the person, but these of them that you need expertise for are going to be behind you more than you are behind them, Like rogues, who have about 30% dodge, ferals have about 30% dodge, Warriors (improved hamstring is a *****) with dodge and parry. This is why I play with expertise cap. I want the upper hand on those who can counter me, when your in an arena against say Rogue/Disc (or even rogue/mage, or Feral/Disc) your gonna have a very hard ****ing time without expertise.
As for your macros, they are jsut the same, really picking a fuss over nothing aren't you. Personally with my binds it makes zero difference with death grip.. Death Grip target = 2... Death Grip focus = Mouse Wheel Up. (Im double jointed in my fingers and they bend in weird ways, so all my binds are built around Alt being my main mod, this is personal and they work for me)
Okay, but playing frost without OB would be kind of playing blood without DS -> It's possible, but less effective and you lose a lot of potential by not using it. That's why I criticized your statement at the beginning of your guide.
Expertise: Well, e.g. a rogue on evidence is a special case. In that case expertise would make it way easier for you. But that's just one of a handful usefull situations. In my opinion there are way too much situations where other stats would be way more effectively than expertise. So that's why I would never use it and why I would never advise someone to do it.
Well, the macros aren't the same in the end. And I'm not saying that your macros are bad. I just used the macros like you describe them before, and I noticed that they are more pleasant the way I use them now.
Example: In the open world I like to burst the hell out of a mob by using Rise Death and other offensive CDs. After that I don't use Death Pact, so the macro like you are using it would reset after the summonor dies.
The focus macros are just a way to save keybinds (like I said before). I already use the MMO mouse of steelseries with 14 keys and still have not enough keybinds without modifiers. That's why.
Necrotic. And yes, if buggs were fixed.
Uh is playable, and I'm really enjoying it :)
Hold up, you ***** about Blood DK's when the issue wasn't actually about our abilities...
Then play Uh DK with has issues with real bugs which are overpowered in the spec atm. (100%+ haste for runic corruption for example)
Am I the only one who see's the irony?
Saxay
Honestly, no :x
I mean do you see every single nub DK running around in UH and getting easy win?
I know I'm too nub to even attempt UH atm.
I am aware there are major bugs with UH. Good and bad ones (However you prefer to see them).
