An emotional connection just like to any other precious object of mine. I take a good care of my guitar, my swords, my PC, my blanket. I say things to them like "Sorry for kicking ya", but not that seriously, just because I prefer clearly stating to myself that I did the mistake of accidentally bumping my leg into my guitar or something, instead of saying it to myself in my head. Similarly, I mutter about whatever mistake I made if I made a mistake.

I talk to myself, I talk to my items, and I talk to my dog and cats, and there's nothing sick about it, because the only one out of those I even slightly expect to say something back is myself.

Gabrantus, you are definitely not the only one. I also feel sympathy towards my items and most objects. For example, if I forget to wet the flowers, I usually feel bad for forsaking them and apologize ~ I have noticed similarities in behavior for lonely people with a certain type of personality and way of being. There are roughly seven billion humans in this world, each different from the other yet so very predictable and alike.

How is it pathetic? I simply cannot comprehend. I'm enjoying myself, instead of forcing myself to find just any girl to cuddle with because it's more socially acceptable than hugging a pillow.

'Normality' is defined by DESIRES of majority and dictations of religion & law. It's not bad to be outside those definitons, don't worry much about it.
