I am thinking more and more about Breatharianism.
That's most likely bullsh*t but starving in general has the potential to prolong your life time by limiting the speed at which your cells divide.
Most of these claimants state that they take their nourishment from other sources and not food or sometimes even water. Some claim to be rejuvenated by the Sun, air, prana or some other spiritual substance. If I could somehow live without food, I would have so much free time, money to spare, less work to do and overall less stress. After all, don't we all try to survive?
Of course, I love pure water too much to simply pass it.
It's complete bullsh*t and will only get you killed. Humans have no way of conducting photosynthesis and acquiring the necessary nutrients out of air or water is impossible as they aren't present in them to begin with. This leaves only the spiritual explanation and that's as bullsh*t as bullsh*t can get.
If you're looking to save time and money on food without committing slow motion suicide and aren't really concerned with losing the enjoyment that comes with consuming said food then you should look up Soylent.
I watched a video debating the pros and cons of a shake that you drink once a week, that you can survive on. They say that's all you need and it will carry your system for an entire week!
But then, even if this works, you face the question of if it's worth it. Not in a monetary way, oh no. Happiness.
Everyone loves eating right? You like being able to taste all the flavors, the juices and spices. It's also a good way to have fun with friends/family. Yes, it takes time and money, but are you honestly so busy you need the meal time for whatever it is you do? It's one of the best ways for you to spend your money. ...unless you're buying mushrooms or some other bad **** like that. :)
Taraza, you insult my intelligence.

DamnOriginal, all of those pretenders have been proved to be complete shams. It still does not change the fact that if humans could survive without food, life would be so interesting. Maybe not better, maybe not even easier, but interesting nonetheless.
I like the taste of food.
10/10 words of truth.
Don't believe in Breatharianism or Soylent or any other crap Fiery. First of all, your digestive system NEEDS TO digest solid food or else it will start to deteriorate and finally dysfunction after a while. Not to mention devastating array of diseases and health problems caused by malnutrition.
She's not considering doing it.
She's considering what life would be like if we didn't have to eat food. Hypothetical.
Grymninja and Orphic, let's say that humans could survive on water alone. Would that stop you eating food? Would that change the fact that you enjoy the tastes? Perhaps, or perhaps not.

Because it would no longer be a necessity, eating will become a hobby and cooking will become a side activity, much like playing video games. We can survive without video games, but that does not stop us from playing them. It is impossible to think of food in such a way, but I often tinker. A personal favorite mind exercise.
I'm not sure how eliminating the need for food would count as interesting. Useful? Definitely, as that would essentially be a solution to the world's hunger problem. But interesting? When you remove the demand for an entire industry with billions of nuances. What do you think will happen to that industry? It will die. You would essentially eliminate a great part of what the world has to offer when it comes to taste.
In what universe could that be considered interesting?
Interesting? Meh, all I see is an overpopulation of certain species. Also, ozone layer will be destroyed even quicker by methane. Aka cow farts. :|
living with only liquids (water, or tea as i read on the article) probably can work just for a few months, i think on 3 months for a body which is used to eat solids since ...always....
*sigh* Antalar, you haven't changed :)

DamnOriginal, in my universe, that would be pretty interesting.

Grymninja, I was talking about humans and humans alone :D

DutchGrinder, think outside the box, will you?
