There's also the fact that people in cars on the road scan for other cars, they're much less likely to notice someone on a motorcycle due to the way our brains work. Obviously this leads to many accidents with motorcycles because people don't see them while in full-auto driving mode.

I'd rather die in a motorcycle accident than in a car accident. Also, in case of an accident in which you don't die, costs of repairing a car > repairing a motorcycle x10. Much more expensive. But yeah, as a motorcyclist, you either die or live long enough to become a good driver.
